  1. Oh, we've all been there. Woken up the next day and wondered what we've done... I'M BAAAAACK!!!! Did you miss me? I know you did; I even got a mention in absentia. 🤩 Moved house. Never really unpacked the model gear. Spent 2019 doing pointless stuff like working on the house, commuting to and from work (which now takes nearly 4 hours a day), losing my mind due to the kids, etc, etc. 2020 has rolled around and I've decided all that other stuff can take a flying leap, and I'm setting up the bench again. Obviously my first port of call was to come back and offer my congratulations on the fabulous finished 504... Oh, wait... Well. Nevermind. I guess the silver lining is that this thread lives on, the political horrors of 2019 can be shut away, and we can all get on with some good and wholesome modelling discussion.
  2. Oh dear. My Revell ISD has sat untouched in the box for the last year since we moved house (as has all my model gear ). I finally got around to cutting some sprues this week, and now I've seen this thread, I think you've just added around 3 more years to my build! 😅 AFAICT, this kit is an ISD2 such as Avenger from ESB. Anyone know if there are any parts that are obviously wrong and/or worthy of updating? I think my plan is going to be to get the Green Strawberry engine bells and PE, some fiber-optics, .... and, well, apparently to spend the next year sticking extra greeblies all over it! 🤣 Outstanding work @dubz. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Got the Revell boxing of the 1:2700 Star Destroyer for Christmas. Wondering what are the best options for detail parts are? So far I have found the Falcon resin sets for engine bells and hanger, and the Green Strawberry resin and PE sets. Anyone have thoughts on which of these are worth looking at, or whether there are some other options?
  4. Indeed. Some modelling has occurred. Screens look good. Did anyone else get a bit distracted over Christmas lunch when the pigs in blankets were dished out?
  5. Well, will you look at tha... ...oh. I seem to have spent a week away moving house, and nothing has happened at all! One can only hypothesize that Ced has spent the week using the new larger car boot to stock-up on Bratwurst.
  6. Sounds like even more work than just modding the intakes. 🤷‍♂️
  7. Well well. It stands to attention all by itself. This is what I mean. The bottom lip of the intake goes smoothly back from the front in a single shallow curve. It looks like your lip takes a pronounced kink at the front like: ⦧ Or maybe I'm mis-reading the profile of yours?
  8. 🎶 It's beginning to look a lot like avro 🎶 Looking great, Steve. Given you've started painting, I'm guessing the answer to my other question is no. 😆 Have a great holiday.
  9. Just my opinion, but I think the real things look a bit more like they have a squared-off lip at the front than they actually do due to the way the shadow falls. It looks like yours may be trying to mimic that phantom profile. Like the bottom lip goes up, then rolls off flatter. Does that make sense? Hard to tell from just the front-on photo.
  10. Was the mono a jet? I ask as there doesn't seem to be prop, and - even to someone lacking in an aeronautical engineering background like myself - it seems unlikely that this setup would fare that well when racing. Are you planning create the stretched skin effect on the tail with bondo like you did for the former for the cockpit sides?
  11. Thanks Johnny. Nearly-ish there. Had to put everything on hold for bit as we finally exchanged on the new house - moving next Thursday. PANIC! I put all my modelling stuff in boxes last night, updates to the Tiger will hopefully resume in the holidays. 🎄 🎅
  12. Well well. Will you take a look at that. We finally get back to modelling, and it's a triumph. I think it's captured the lines on the original pretty well. But enough about the Enterprise, your intakes also look OK, Ced.
  13. Still no sign of Captain Nimrod? How sad. I propose we hold a minute's sausage at 11am tomorrow. Silence. Yes. Silence. A minute's silence.
  14. Still no word from Ced. I think that means the escape room has become his tomb.
  15. I'm starting to worry that this thread may be beginning to affect my life outside scale modelling. I think I'm becoming obsessed.
  16. No idea. Anyone know what the record is for number of pages of sausage related discussion between OP's model posts?
  17. Blimey. Not had another bloke this interested in my sausage since that time I wandered drunk into a soho nightclub. For enquiring minds, it was Morrissons The Best Thick Pork Sausage. For dinner, that is.
  18. With all this kit's failings, I think you may as well just scratch the whole thing starting with a giant turkey baster.
  19. What's the long German word for when your Britmodeller thread goes wrong? NimrodBauenWurstÜbernahmen?
  20. Mind. Blown. 🤯 Maybe this is coincidence, maybe there's some grand plan from The Creator and all this talk of sausages is something that's coursing through the very fabric of the universe at this time? I have no idea. What I do know, is that I've just got in from work to find I've been served bangers and mash for dinner.
  21. I could start it now, but then I would have 5 kits on the go. If a race is taking place, you may be getting a serious head start. 🏃‍♂️
