  1. Just a reminder: While Airfix would have you paint the upper fuselage section that is under the canopy #33 Black, in reality, it should be painted Dark Green, the same as the upper camouflage colour. Chris
  2. I just found these on my 'puter. Chris
  3. The German 30 mm. cannon could supposedly take down a B-17 with as few as 3 hits, especially if the wings were hit. Chris
  4. I bought these a few years ago, but haven't used them yet: Chris
  5. On mine, after the final shaping with a file, I went over the clear bits using these. When done, the lights were coated with Future, giving them a nice, clear look. Chris
  6. Years ago, I read that the standard .303 steel-jacket rifle round could penetrate 1/4 inch of armor plate, if it hit at a 90 degree angle. Now I don't remember where I read this and I can't find it now. Does anyone else know of this? Chris
  7. Some of those old rubber tyres couldn't stand the test of time. They degraded after a few years. Back in the early 80's, I started a Tamiya 1/35 L.R.D.G. COMMAND CAR. Due to a couple of housing moves, I didn't get back to it for at least 5 years. When I opened, the tyres had turned to soft, mushy bits and had warped some of the plastic. A couple years later, I read about this issue in some modelling magazine ( no internet back then ). As far as I know, you're S.O.L. Sorry! Chris
  8. I have these 2 colour photos, from Carl Vincent ( @Carl V 😞 I also have this, from the first book, above: Chris
  9. Here's another cockpit pic, showing that the seat was movable. Chris
  10. I had the same issue with mine. I just used a small file and filed off the extra from the lower wing. Then I went back over it with a Tamiya medium sanding stick. Chris
  11. Cockpit photos: I also have this rare book: Plus this newer book: Chris
  12. The Hs 123 was used in decreasing small numbers right to to the battle for Leningrad. By that time, what few were left were worn out and there were no spare aircraft nor spare parts left. Chris
  13. Back in 2011, there was a large forest fire off the the northeast of here. The Mars came up to a lake about 30km. south of town. I went out and got some photos. The next day, I got this video: Chris
  14. At this time, there seems to be an issue with Postimages and the photos are nor viewable. There are other posts by other members with this issue. Chris
  15. Adrian, your Postimages photos aren't seeable and won't open in a new tab. Is there an issue with Postimages? Chris
  16. What do you mean by " navy colours"? Coastal Command? The Royal Navy never used Blenheims. Chris
  17. Now that you ask me that, I can't really remember. That was about 5 years ago. Maybe I did do it after the wings were glued together. I don't recall having any issue with fitting it. Chris
  18. These areas. I scraped mine down with the Xacto blade in the photo, then used a little Mr. Surfacer 1000 in between. Chris
  19. While trawling through the large stash of aircraft photos stored on my 'puter, I found this: There was no information where this was taken, but it is in Canada. Chris
  20. Why? When I built mine, that part fitted right in, smoothly. Of course, I added it before I glued the wings together, not waiting to do it in Step 12. Chris
