  1. You must be a glutton for punishment, 1/72 Kettenkrad! Nicely moulded and detailed though! Good luck Darryl
  2. Thanks Keith That's the right spot, according to the instructions. Any pictures I've seen of them the name goes on the air intakes so I'm pretty confident it's the right spot. (That should guarantee someone will prove me wrong!😉)
  3. Stickers on! Gloss coat of Humbrol acrylic straight from the rattle can, I know shock horror what a heathen! An upside to AFVs very few markings to apply. 30 min before work one morning, dish of warm water, micro sol and set and voila.... The decal for the name Briton is a little to tall to fit where it should but I wont tell anyone if you don't. The white and yellow markings are a touch translucent, however they are nice and thin, conform nicely and are quite happy to be moved around until positioned correctly. (The last time I tried using AFV Club decals every one shattered and were completely unusable). A sealing gloss coat is the next job prior to panel line wash. Thanks for looking Darryl
  4. Keeps getting better, just as well after spending so long on the operating table! Super and irritating in equal measures I'm afraid Keith. Super build, paintwork and weathering but.....everytime I look I keep thinking I should get one! Then again i keep thinking that of the real thing, have you seen the price of a real one these days! Particularly like the finish on the seats btw. I'm going to be really picky now and I apologise, one very minor point for the future. The tyres; weathering in the tread and rolling surface great but the sidewalls look too black. (It could just be the way its photographed and catching the light). Look at a tyre today, unless it's been valeted and treated, it'll look a very dark grey, worn tyres can be a variety of shades and that's before dirt gets involved. However, as I say, I apologise for nitpicking. Doing some great work. Darryl
  5. Good luck, interesting to see how it goes together! Darryl
  6. Thanks John, Sherman tracks look so awkward, they make most others look pretty straightforward. These are going together pretty well, the individual links are well cast there's a quite a lot of blind holes for the pins that need to be drilled out but otherwise all fine. Thanks Keith, exactly, something is better than nothing! Little and often! That sounds so familiar! The number of times I've sat down and spent most of the time available trying to remember where I'm up too and what to do next! Cheers fellas!
  7. Well that came out of the blue! (Which may well something the crew might have said too). I don't remember this build at all Stef but it certainly looks the part..... Really nicely done, good job with the panzer grey too. Nice base, great details and a couple of really well done figures, what's not to like! Great work Stef, as ever! Darryl
  8. Not much to show this last week I'm afraid.... I know, must try harder! One of the tracks is done and the pins superglued into position.
  9. What do I think.....? I think I'm looking forward to Bob hand painting that muzzle brake! Re' your reference pic of the Jagdtiger, would you say that's the late war pale dunkelgelb (44) and the associated Olivegrun and Rotbraun? If so it would look pretty striking!
  10. Yes chief I'm sat sitting! (I blame good old Terry Wogan for that one). How did the saying go, to inform, educate and entertain. Whilst I'd never claim to educate, I'd need to know somet first, I can have some fun with modelling adjacent stuff and enjoy a bit of banter with the like minded. I've said before, my spare time is usually the odd 5-10min inbetween other duties, not really ideal for modelling, so where better to spend the time than here. Anyway, must go and see what, or whom, I can poke at in the GB basement, sounds like quite the menagerie is forming. Thanks Andrew, I'll do my best to try and get something done to it again soon. It keeps looking at me and accusing me of dereliction of duty. Cheers chaps, appreciated as ever! Darryl
  11. Coming along nicely Simon, suspension does look very fragile, even on the real thing. Glad to see the "Tea Drinker" is in situ, all about priorities. I think he needs a name?? What about John, a homage to old buggerlugs of this same parish?
  12. Don't know yet how well the earlier kits go together, the new Mk 7 is different. However, I'd always been put off by the suspension arrangement but in the end it was no problem and appears the same through the range. "Waffle" I think of it as erudite discussion with a little modelling thrown in as cover, it's as much fun as the build itself.
  13. Don't give me that, I had an idea....
  14. Very nice! The variety of tones in the dunklegelb is really good, great work! Darryl
  15. Taking shape now Roger, your interior is already looking pretty appealing! John really, this is supposed to be a PG forum!
  16. Sounds possible. The olivegrun from the late war camo colours would make sense. 👍
  17. My idea at the time was to create a stamp for the rings, I thought getting a paint to match the decal could be tricky. I never even come across German primer green.
  18. Good luck, I haven't seen one of these Border Tigers built.
  19. Nice choice! Academy does the Octopus KT, having read Bob's input I'll have to compare. Any thoughts on the shade of green? It doesn't look like Olivegrun. Atb Darryl
  20. This might be handy, all research that might be required by David Byrden https://tiger1.info/ Tiger 131, captured N Africa.
  21. You did, remove the three panels, top ,bottom and centre and then the intake if I remember correctly. Ignore the U/C door on top of the first stack of ceilings. Darryl
  22. Keith's "going early"....not saying a word. Isn't the Airfix kit a re-box of the Academy kit? Interesting to see how it goes together, I've the late version knocking around somewhere that I've never got around to. Any thoughts, North Africa or Sicily?
  23. Brilliant, great paintwork, I particularly like the tonal variations in the green and light weathering. Really nicely photographed too. Atb Darryl
  24. Whilst not my scale I can still appreciate great modelling. Your tiny Stug looks great, particularly impressed with the paint work. I'd struggle to get that neat a line in 1/35. Atb Darryl
