  1. When I looked into a N African Tiger for the Tiger super thread the conclusion was RAL 8000 Geldbraun for the base and RAL 7008 graugrun for the camo overspray, any additions added in field painted RAL 8020 Braun. (Even then the camo is more distinct than in period photos). Good luck
  2. Very nice! The Scammel and Chieftain have come out really well, make a great pair. All your hardwork has really paid off and the base is the icing on the cake. Just needs a clear acrylic lid to go over the top. Really great modelling Mark, you should be justifiably pleased with that. So what's next? Atb Darryl
  3. This red appears to be catching! 😷 Good progress Keith, now stop messing around a crack on, there's a good chap!
  4. Well wouldn't you know this appears to have morphed into the doggy day care thread! Our Scoob is still asleep and as I can't be bottomed to take him out I'll do something useful instead, alternatively I'll have nosey around BM! Funnily enough Bob all your threads are pretty much keeping pace with each other, it's as if you're creating a production line to reduce overheads. Enjoy your wheels it looks wheelly good fun.....
  5. Well just look at that this is the one with the spinny thing on top! To quote young Keith "Nice work!" More like only got until June....
  6. Looking really good, the base will look super. This RFM kit is late 42 early 43 so it hits the early Tiger mark for me. A number would have the feifel filters disconnected particularly on the Eastern front so like with most other detail check with period photos. (It's not super early as it's doesn't have the mirror tracks or the large bins on the turret sides, amongst other things that I'm sure the experts could highlight). Great start! Darryl
  7. I starting to see the appeal of 1/72 scale modelling... Lovely little kit, goes together really well and doesn't take months! Nice work. Darryl
  8. Really pushing ahead, no wonder you decided upon three builds! Must remember to try Stefs @Stef N. suggestion about a red primer. Decided upon a plan for the zimm?
  9. And yet more detail! It just goes to show it helps to know your onions! Nice work with the aerial, and the rest. Atb Darryl
  10. I'd concur, someone will now probably find something to prove otherwise, it was only the early ones that would have been finished in panzer grey. So dunklegelb should be the way to go. Looks a really nice kit, particularly for 1/72. Good luck with the build. Darryl
  11. Ahhhh, and I thought you just gone AWOL! Looking good, nice selection of stores to hang underneath. Such attention to detail too, brilliant. YGBSM its gona be another wingy-thing, your armour qual's will be out of date at this rate! Ditto! Must be the time of year, I'm middle of upstairs WC and kitchen. (No excuse of "waiting for paint to dry" as I can hop from one to t'uther). Funnily enough the plea of wanting to play with boys doing Tiger things carries no weight.
  12. Thanks Stix, makes a change for you to be relaxing and enjoying the GB rather than cracking the wip as a host! Just to prove I'm actually joining in and not just calling from the sidelines... After market discovered within the kit box.... Obviously the kit tracks arn't AM but just to show why I'd want to replace them. The other stuff may or may not get used, depends upon time and what I can be bothered with... And to prove I've actually done something, really dived into the kit and cracked on....
  13. The joy of a Tiger, torsion bars and wheels, lots of wheels.... Good luck Darryl
  14. If I had a pound for the number of times I'd heard that..... Good luck with the track hunt, surprising what turns up where!
  15. Steaming ahead Keith! Good work on improving the offerings from the box, goes to show you don't need to buy a load of AM at a kit to make improvements. (Thanks for the heads up on the Academy/Airfix Tiger. Needing to thin the herd so think this one might go). Good luck! Darryl
  16. Good to see you motoring on Stef! 👍 Interesting idea with the red as a primer, might have a go at that myself. It'll make an interesting comparison to the Mr Mahogany that I usually go for. Atb Darryl
  17. Well someone's steaming ahead! Nice isn't it when you open a box to find a set of Fruils or a random selection of AM bits! As you say, it's not so much the wheels as painting the tyres that's the killer. Nice to see you getting stuck in anyway, and not before time....
  18. Brilliant, just brilliant! A real show stopper, the gun, figure and weathering all first class. (Thought I'd already commented but it must have been the wip). How did they move such a thing, team of oxen? Great modelling! Darryl
  19. Very nice John, really really good. Glad to see the top secret velcro rope is still holding on. 😉 The simple base really enhances it too. As does the photography, I rather like the black background, sets it off very nicely. Great work Darryl
  20. Good idea Roger, as has been said, painted markings always look better than a decal, particularly something large like the red cross. Atb Darryl
  21. Looking good John, super attention to detail! Atb Darryl
  22. Another Ed masterpiece incoming! Sure this will be another belter. Don't miniart do excellent box art as well! Enjoy Darryl
  23. It's a poorly designed tank thing!
  24. Bravo that man, bravo and thrice bravo!!! Now pick up this chalice and with God's speed run with it!
  25. Very nice Maddox, super work, the paintwork and weathering look great. I particularly like the dirt track you've created, looks really effective. 👍 Atb Darryl
