  1. I'm thinking a 1/32 Hurricane to complete the BOB history. Otherwise a Seafury to get a field goal .
  2. Now we just need the 3 blade propellors for the C-46. Buffalo Airways which I am planning has the them. I did inquire. Valom doesn't have them in any of the kits. I was fortunate that a fellow modeller sent me the props from a Williams kit.
  3. Great looking work Jeff! Im learning a lot about the Airfix Spitfire from your postings. I'm still chugging along with my out of the box Spitfire. The kit is a lot of fun and interesting engineering by Airfix. Thanks.
  4. Attached to that photo was "Aircraftman Jim Birkett and Leading Aircraftman Wally Passmore working on the Merlin engine of a Spitfire IX of No 241 Squadron in Southern Italy, January 1944."
  5. What is the issue the cowling? " because of the cowling saga" I am knee deep building this beauty.
  6. Im wondering the same. Is the release handle missing from the kit?
  7. My reference for the plane I'm doing shows no bar and another with a metal finished bar. I may leave it out 🤦‍♂️
  8. Yes I had a look. Got a copy online. It's a good read with a lot of info. Im building one straight out the box open cockpit with no engine. I will build that later to display. What a fun well engineered kit.
  9. Would this be the magazine you are talking about Pat? Thanks. Always lookin for more references when it comes to MK IXs
  10. Thanks Dennis! Question was the large late production cowling used on some MK. IXs? I thought I had read that somewhere.....
  11. Hi Jeff, Your notes above are very interesting. Thanks for sharing! I have the kit on the bench right now having a great time with this kit. Planning Buzz Beurling's KH-B MA585. Unfortunately EagleCals decals are not very good. I was under the impression there were 3 different cowlings on the Mk.IX an early, a mid, and a late. The late being larger to accomodate the Packard Merlin. I need to do a little more reading/research to educate myself. 🤔 Keep up the sharing of this info. Inquiring Spitfire aficionados want to know 😃
  12. Yes unfortunately quite a few of us paid for 1 or 2 of the Aeromodl 737s. Only having to wait 2 years so far....Not to be trusted in any thing they say. I asked for a refund 6 months ago and crickets!
