I use Hannants for buying paint masks and decals. They seem to have a very wide selection and if you spend more than £6 you get free postage.

Tamiya Extra Thin Cement is brilliant and get some Klear floor polish for making your clear parts clearer.

Cheers Bill. Any info on HR241/TH-M? Seems like there are too many questions over NT137 especially as all the decals have TH-T, so I couldn't do TH-H.

Thanks Edgar and Tim, Some interesting information there. The rules of the Group build says I have to build an aircraft that actually flew on D-Day. I would be happy to build either of those 418 squadron aircraft as I can get hold of the decals. But if what Edgar says about 418 not taking part is true then that rules them both out. The RAF Website lists 418 as taking part so I will ask the group build hosts whether or not they will allow me to enter one of those aircraft.

I've posted this on the D-Day GB thread, but hoping to get a wider audience from here. I'm thinking of building Tamiya's 1/72 Mosquito VI for the D-Day group build. The actual aircraft I've got in mind is NT137 TH-T 418 Sqn RCAF `Lady Luck'. The decals for which can be found from Eagle Strike on Hannants. I've done some digging and I'm fairly sure this aircraft would have taken part in D-Day, but I can find no reference of it ever receiving invasion stripes. Can anyone confirm if it did take part and whether I need to give it stripes?

Wow! Information overload! I'm making BD712, and it seems we're agreed that it wasn't painted in Ocean Grey. But was it painted in Mixed Grey or DSG? What does DSG mean? Dark Sea Grey? Dark Slate Grey? Assuming it was Mixed Grey then do I use 7 parts MSG to 1 part black? If it was "DSG" then I'm not really sure what I'm doing yet! Also, what does TLS and MU stand for? Walrus, did you mean to write A, B, C for option 2? My instructions say A, C, D. Option 1; UF.Y B0712 601 sqn Duxford Aug 1941 A = bronze green rev65 B = greyish blue rev79 D = grey rev57 Option2; AE.W BE485 402 sqn Warmwell Nov 1941 A = bronze green rev65 C = 80% rev79 + 10% rev48 (sea green) + 10% rev 57 D = grey rev57 A must be Dark Green D must be Medium Sea Grey Either B or C will be Ocean Grey. I suspect Graham could be right that the other is Mixed Grey, but which is which?

Thanks Guys, I thought as much, but then there are two possible Hurricane's on the instructions both with slightly different colour callouts and I wasn't sure why Revell had done that.

I like them. I use them for all my kits if they are available. They sure beat spending hours cutting out glazing on some WW2 bombers!

Hello, Can anyone help me figure out what colours to paint my Hurricane. It's the Revell 1/72 Mk2b. I'm using the kit decals and the aircraft in question is based at Duxford in August 1941. The Revell colours are: Upper - 65 - Bronze Green Upper - 79 - Greyish Blue Lower - 57 - Grey Are there standard RAF colours that these correspond to?

I would recommend the following: FW 190 D-9 - Tamiya Me-109E - Tamiya Me 262 - Revell Me 410 - Finemolds! He-111 - Hasegawa or cheaper Revell re-boxing Ju-88- Hasegawa

Nice work Seamus. One of my fave aircraft ever. Good recovery too. It's when things go wrong that I usually just give up and chuck it in the bin!

Thanks for all the help guys. So far I've painted the interior. Even that was a headache as there are so many different opinions on what colours it should be. I'm not too bothered really as once it's all together most of it won't be visible. If anyone is interested I will post pictures as I progress.

Here's the pics I found. Definitely looks like the larger nose bubble to me and I can't tell if it has side windows or not. Any idea why the paint is very light around the exhausts?

Does anyone have any information on this aircraft? I've started building my Revell Lancaster and I'm intending to build this particular aircraft using the Aeromaster Decals. I don't have any books on the subject, so I've done some internet research and found a few pictures and a brief history. As far as I can tell, the aircraft is a B Mk1. According to Revell's instructions, the Mk1 had the shorter nose blister, but from the pictures I have found it certainly looks like the longer blister. None of the pictures show enough of the side of the aircraft, so I cannot tell if the side windows were painted over. The drawing on the decals suggests they were not. Any info would be gratefully accepted. Thanks.
