  1. That looks gorgeous. I love the way you've blended all the different shades of silver to create a weathered look.
  2. Please excuse my ignorance but what/who is the trophy for?
  3. I don't get anything much flying over my house, but my new office is really close to Farnborough so I've got plenty to see and hear at the moment. Last night I watched the F-22 practising it's display.
  4. There's nothing to worry about. It's brilliant stuff. Just make sure you're in a well ventilated room. As a side note I've just been on the phone to Paul to order some new rubber seals for my airbrush. It may or may not have been the Alclad primer /cleaner but I would suggest after cleaning to let everything dry out properly before screwing it back together.
  5. Beautiful. I was beginning to wonder if you we're ever gonna finish this one.
  6. Quick update before I'm busy for the rest of the weekend. Fuselage, wings and tail all glued together, filled where necessary and re-scribed. Clear parts attached, masked and sprayed interior green. Brake lines added to the undercarriage legs from 0.2mm lead wire. I was thinking about adding some detail to the engines. I was expecting to see wires all over the place but looking at photos on the net that doesn't seem to be the case so I've decided to leave them alone. Next job (hopefully tomorrow evening) is to primer everything.
  7. Mish you are correct. The Instructions would have you paint it XF19 - Sky Grey. Never mind. It's barely visible inside the fuselage anyway. On a more positive note, I found the missing rear instrument panel. It was blu-tacked to a cocktail stick inside the box. Yay! That's now painted and drying. I almost just lost the gunsight too. Grabbed it with some tweezers for painting only for it to ping off. I heard it hit something solid in the bathroom opposite and noticed it sat there in the bottom of the toilet. Lovely.
  8. Having been on holiday and starting a new job, progress on the Beau has been slow, but this weekend I've managed to assemble and paint the interior. Apart from the Ultracast seats I'm not doing a lot to the interior as most of it is hidden away. I've lost the little instrument panel for the rear. I'm going to go and have another good search for it now. Finally, I've Fitted the Ultracast Exhausts to the cowlings and a pair of Little Lenses to the light in the wing. EDIT: Removed duplicate image.
  9. Interesting stuff. Would the Beaufighter be in "Special Night" too?
  10. DOH! Is there no way to retrieve the loose part with tweezers, move it back into place and glue it again?
  11. That's a nice model and I think you're the first to finish a model in this Group Build. We need to get a finished builds gallery set up.
  12. That's a shame, but please don't give up on it. It's looking good so far.
  13. Absolutely! Welcome to the group build.
  14. I believe it can. It certainly removes the excess when I've used too much!
  15. Thanks for the heads up. The wings are already glued together so I'm not going to attempt to fill in one set of holes now. At least they're on the underside so won't be seen. I'm fine with the repair patches. I'm sure this must have happened in-service occasionally! No progress made since last time. I'm starting a new job on Tuesday so been really busy at work handing over all my existing projects.
  16. Of course! What you going to build?
  17. Okay, here's the modified engine cowlings. I think I might drill out the holes in the intakes to make them a little bigger.
  18. I found their Dark Earth far too dark.
  19. Sweet. You did a much better job than I did of mine. What matt varnish did you use?
  20. I can't believe how quick you are building this.
  21. Hi All, I want to improve the cockpit of my 1/48 Hasegawa BF109K-4 by adding a resin replacement. I've found 4 on Hannants, but which is best? I'm more concerned with ease of fitting than overall accuracy. Aires AIRE4248 - £8.99 - Resin with PE details. Designed for Hasegawa kit. True Details TD48492 - £10.50 - I can't find any info on this one. CMK CMK4005 - £11.99 - Resin, PE and Vac canopy. (For Hasegawa and Fujimi, so will it fit easily?) Cutting Edge CEC48386 - £17.60 - Resin only. How Much!? Which would YOU choose?
