  1. I have re-painted the tyres in a darker grey. Looks better now I think: 109E3_48 by Jazzy Jase, on Flickr

  3. I've taken some pics of the adjusted gear legs. I'm now much happier with how it looks. You can just about make out the brake lines in the second photo: Before: FW190A808 by Jazzy Jase, on Flickr After: FW190A8015 by Jazzy Jase, on Flickr

  5. That's gorgeous. Well done.
  6. I have updated the list of interested participants. We've now got 40 names! I won't add planned builds until closer to the date seeing as it's still a way off.
  7. Nice, thanks Mental. Sound like it could be interesting. I've cocked one of these up in the past so I know it's a mare to fit.
  8. Now that I've got a few weeks off work I'm going to build this little beauty. Hopefully over the Christmas holiday: 1/48 Eduard Grumman Hellcat F6F-5 Montex Paint Mask Ultracast Prop & Spinner Ultracast Seats Quickboost Guns Quickboost Exhausts Quickboost engine Aires Gear bays Ultracast Wheels Hellcat_01 by Jazzy Jase, on Flickr
  9. Looks good. How well did the kit fit together? Any problems?
  10. Well here's a blast from the past. I was just doing some repair work on this model. I repositioned the gear legs - they were at too much of an angle, in my opinion. Added brake lines and repainted the pitot. It was when I was repainting the pitot that I noticed the colour didn't match the rest of the model. Turns out I've painted the bottom of the aircraft RLM 78, not RLM 76. Doh!
  11. I've just done a bit of searching and can't find the Eduard one. The Italeri kit seems plentiful - I just ordered one for myself!
  12. I think the Accurate Minatures kit is the only decent offering. It's been reboxed by both Italeri and Eduard.
  13. Amazing. You built that from scratch? I wouldn't even know where to start.
  14. Update: Thanks to a suggestion on Facebook the tyres are now a much darker shade of grey.

  16. Thanks, The Montex masks are great for the markings but the ones for the glass areas are a little thick and don't conform very well to curves. I prefer the Eduard ones for glazing.

  20. Quick update: The last few nights I've been busy painting the markings on. Should have finished, but made a stupid mistake and forgot to put the centre masks of the 0's in so I need to fix that by re-applying the masks and painting the camouflage back into the centre's. I also messed up painting the red tip of the spinner so I've stripped the paint ready to start again.
  21. That's very nicely finished. What did you use for the aerial wire and blobs at each end?
  22. Erwin that looks like an interesting subject. RAF Colonel, I'm not 100% sure if you're allowed to enter the same kit in multiple group builds. I will check with Mish.
  23. Progress! The top camo colours are finished: (Pics of the finished model will be taken in natural light so won't have the orange tint to them.) 109E3_11 by Jazzy Jase, on Flickr 109E3_12 by Jazzy Jase, on Flickr 109E3_13 by Jazzy Jase, on Flickr 109E3_14 by Jazzy Jase, on Flickr Here's all the small parts painted and ready for attaching: 109E3_15 by Jazzy Jase, on Flickr Next up: Painting the markings.
