  1. Great work, you don't see many of them built. I enjoyed your WIP and I'm tempted to acquire on e to go with my F-94C.
  2. Cheers Ian, one of the guys at the branch has some resin inserts to turn the easier to find early models into the later ones. Its the decals that are getting harder to source..
  3. Its just a black gloss undercoat , with various Humbrol metallics and Tamiya spray silver. loads of polishing between coast and a a bucket load of masking tape.
  4. Since Million Monkeys F-86 pages disappeared I've been reliant on the decal sheets and the Air Force Legend books. I'll change it s title. Thanks for the update I've just done a search and found this: http://www.forgottenjets.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/F-86D.html Happy days.
  5. I've been so wrapped up in wargamming recently I've not built a plane for a couple of months, so I went back to an old favourite, the Revell F-86D. I've done a shed load of these kits and am finally getting to the end of my stckpile which were mainly bought when ModelZone went bust or from second hand vendors at Telford. The decal are an old SuperScale sheet for the 5th FIS after they changed tail colours from Blue to Yellow in 1956. I think to be completely accurate there should be markings on the tanks but they aren't on the sheet and two photos show two different applications. As always thanks for looking
  6. Lovely work, you don't see a Panther for ages then three beautiful ones come along at once.
  7. Lovely work, it is one of my favourite Monogram models and yours is a great example. I an still trying to locate a good boxing of the Bridgesof Toko Ri edition. I bought what I thought was a good one this year but the decals were shot.
  8. Beautiful model of a true classic. The star of the Bridges of Toko-Ri
  9. They are always at Telford in November
  10. Vince, to do armour I start with a Black undercoat, then Gunmetal dry brushed then a further dry brush of Chainmail Silver. I fine line the highlights with Silver and use a black wash to tone it all down. Some of the figures have blue wash just for contrast. All paints are Vallejo.
  11. I seem to be moving swiftly on with these chaps, maybe not being tied to a particular uniforms has stopped my usual painters block, but at this rate I'll soon have them on the table. Duke Visconti's Cavalry The Duke of Visconti's Crossbowmen. Siennese Handgunners Landsknechts Priest and Cardinal Thanks for looking.
  12. I must have missed these Jim, they are all great, but I do especially like the FreiKorps guys.
  13. I especially like the way you have dealt with the rear fuselage panels. Its a hard job to pull off realistically but you have done it.
  14. We had a DC-3 flying low over us north of Sheffield/Rotherham about 2.30. Twenty minutes later TMS reported one flying over Headingley.
  15. How many more units to go before you can refight the whole battle? No matter how many, I'm very very impressed.
  16. I love all the nice little touches, such as the liberated purple cushions, which add so much life to the model. The ground work also sets off your models to a tee.
  17. Top work as always Jim, I painted a few boxes of Rohirrim (spelling), for a friend s wargame army and enjoyed them immensely. The Grand Alliance infantry look good as well.
  18. Nice figures Jim, whoever sculpts them knows his/her human anatomy unlike some of their other sculptors. Looking forward to seeing them progress.
  19. Apparently it's just called Napoleonic Wargaming and it is only covering the Friday and Saturday at the moment and he has let rip at our inept cavalry commanders. Might be fun.
  20. I'll try and get a link to Tim's You Tube channel and pm it to you.
