  1. I believe it should be split 50/50 black and white not sky.
  2. It's a Dartmoor Military Models figure, one of a series of fabulous 1/48th scale figures http://www.dartmoormilitarymodels.com/
  3. £6 Cheaper than Hasegawa and £10 more expensive then Airfix according to Hannants. I'd like to see a review as well before commiting but an after market decal sheet will just about make the Airfix and Italeri the same price.
  4. Thats the trouble when the modelling bug hits your kids. My daughter got bitten a while back and she has finished a Hobbyboss Wildcat and Corsair and an Airfix Spifire, trouble is i can't get near the workbench. Glad shes happy though. Got to go help finish her Red Arrows Hawk now.
  5. Its out now, announce on Hannants Hot news. About £24.00 http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/IT2690
  6. looking good, kept it going. At least you didn't forget to put the seat in before you assembled the fuselage, I did.
  7. Absolutely fabulous work, I don't know how at last one didn't go flying into the wall!
  8. No it doesn't. It is also no longer available via MAM AFAIK. Very interested in the undercarriage differences, was they diffent in length angle or size. I've built two already so I'd like to get the third one right.
  9. sorry, I don't have the means to post photographs. The parts are basically a new one piece resin nose which replaces the Hasegawa parts forward of the cockpit and 3 narrow propellor blades.
  10. looks good and the decals give some excellet unit choices, many applicable to the Battle of Britain as well as the intended era. Odd that no Italian choices are included. Shame it will be out too late for inclusion in the IPMS(UK) Battle of Britain display at Telford. I'm building a Hasegawa B-2 as a B-1 using my last 'Model Aircraft Monthly' resin conversion, so I also hope for a boxing with the B-1 nose, however I'm still waiting for a CR 42 with the non AS or nightfighter exhaust and how long has the CR been available. I won't be holding my breath.
  11. Fabulous work Darius, I am watching this in awe. Keep up the great work and don't let them get to you.
  12. The wings were interchangeable so it was possible to fit the E-3/4 wing to the E-1, the canopies were also interchangable. A number of cannon armed Bf109s brought down in the battle of britain had were E-1s according to the manufacturers plate. The wing could not be modified from one to another.
  13. Another vote for Gunze, smooth, good coverage, brush touch ups no problem. I buy from MDC.
  14. It is true you can polish a t**d!!! Absolutely fabulous work my friend.
  15. Mikes articles have been a great example of how to do something special with a basic kit, no expensive add-ons etc, though the ability to make your own decals does help Even though I am working 1/48th, they have been a source of great inspiration. I hope there are more to come.
  16. I believe that Roger has been very ill and has moved house as he retired from vicaring. He sometimes comes to the Rotherham IPMS meetings, if he is there on Friday I'll ask him.
  17. Nice, must get that set, thanks for the heads up
  18. Is 48M.23 out yet? The Dartmoor website has no picture of the figures, so I thought it was a future project.
  19. The main visual change in equipment/webbing was that the gas mask or respirator case was carried on the chest in 1940. The case was a meduim size rectangular shape and quite distinctive in dating a figure. I am not sure that the Tamiya set has something suitable in it. My main gripe with the Tamiya sets I've bought is that the figures are a little small in height and bulk. Specialists like Dartmoor Miniatures might have what you are looking for, try Relish Models for a list. Wee Friends models had a lovely policeman and cheeky school boy vignette but that was 1/35th scale. Somehow 1/48th scale seems ignored by figure manufactuers, maybe there isn't the market which seems odd given the Tamiya Armour series.
  20. Long darn good if I may say so. I really like the way you have weathered the GSB finish, looks spot on to me.
  21. I'll be there one day, look for the harassed looking dad with two kids in tow.
  22. Absolutely, I can't check my own work because I know what I wrote! I've just done my first attempt at proof reading and because it was a subject dear to my heart, I kept missing things and seeing things that were not there. Strangely I found that by working back from the last paragraph on a page, it all became much easier. Breaking the expected patterns, I expect.
  23. Great save on the roundels, they actually fit but with the faded scheme! ;
