  1. Very glad they are safe, I could make a political point but I won't. Just a heartfelt Thank You to all the members of our Armed Forces for putting their necks on the line to preserve out freedom.
  2. Excellent work , especially on the Special Hobby one. Care to expand on any build issues as I have one in stock?
  3. Fabulous work, looks like the real thing. I can't believe anyone could make such a great job out of the old Dapol kit.
  4. Don't forget I've got another one to build as well!
  5. Maybe after the 609 Spitfire, though I want to finish the Anson. There might be some nice stickers for it by then
  6. Yes, the base is part of the kit I'm going to landscape it later, looking for some PSP at the moment. Shame the motor stopped working it would have looked quite smart.
  7. Try an undercoat of Vallejo black then dry brush with Vallejo Flat Earth which is a rich brown colour then mix some orange veering towards a reddy orange and dry brush or streak then add a touch more yellow and dry brush. Sounds complicated; takes a coulpe of minutes. Hope this helps
  8. This is my latest RNZAF machine, NZ5424 of 3 Sevicing Unit in 1945. I bought the Tamiya spinning prop version really cheaply but after assembling and painting it stoped working. I reckon I must have broken one of the connections but once on the bowels of the model it isn't going to be fixed easily. I heavily weathered the Gloss Sea Blue, using a mix of lightenen paint, pastels and washes but the flash seems to have lost a lot of this. I used a mixture of Rising Decals and Ventura. The Rising roundels are far too light so I replaced them with Ventura. Thanks for looking
  9. Well done, I know a couple of modellers who have given up on that kit. I don't know how you found it,for me the worst bit was the fit of the nacelles. It looks really good and I like the subtle weathering.
  10. Fabulous work, I've always prefered the two seater to the single seater and yours looks really good.
  11. Always good to see 609 Squadron modelled. Nice work you handed the poorly fitting cockpit insert really well.
  12. Looking good Wolfie, looking good. The kit that is.
  13. What a fantastic job with the old old Airfix kit. Gosh there are some talented people on this forum.
  14. I'm up for at least one Oxford though I'd realy like a turreted one, and unturreted one and a Consul as well. And a Vildebeest and a Vincent as well. Oh great its going to be expensive.
  15. Brings back happy memories of when I did 1/72nd scale. I alway worked on the basis of sanding the Hunters nose until the panel lines were barely there, at that point I reckoned the nose was as right as possible without rebuilding. Nice work and a lovely finish. I did my 1/48 Aeroclub conversion for the Academy kit in the same markings.
  16. Glad it is not just me who takes forever to build a Classic Airframes kit. I always think they are worth the effort in the end and yours most certainly is. Lovely paint scheme as well. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Beautiful work, I did her awhile back and thoroughly enjoyed it. The markings alway remind me of the early Revell 1/72nd scale Mustang, which came as the Millie G but suggested the Olive Drab/Dark Green/Jeep(whichever you references state) paint was red!!!
  18. Classic Airframes are becoming a bit of a theme. Very nice work, lovely finish as well.
  19. Lovely work, nice to see another Classic Airframes kit finished.
  20. Lovely build, I really like the colour scheme as well. Thanks for posting.
  21. Here is my latest RNZAF model, it is the Hasewaga TA-4J using the spares in the box to make a TA-4K. I have built 3 of the single seaters and found it doesn't build as well as most Hasegawa kits, may of the 'optional' panels don't fit as well as I would have liked. I used my dwindling stocks of the fabulous Gekko Graphics RNZAF A-4 sheets to make NZ6252 which is the same aircraft as my avatar. The photo makes the model look a bit darker than it is to the eye. Thanks for looking.
  22. Glad you've got your mojo back, I always lose mine after Telford and over Christmas. Looking forward to more updates.
  23. Another one of the 'unbuildable' Classic Airframes kits built and finished. Lovely work.
