Thats a lot of work JIm,. Love the Chieftain and his puppies. I can't do what you've done and assemble loads of figures at once, all those little grey men staring at me somehow puts me off even starting painting. I tend to have about a dozen on the table at once and the rest get assembled a small batch at a time. I've just finished assembling the last of the Condottieri. I've ended up with over 2000 chaps but never more that 15 actually in front of me.

Braver man than me with the masks. The markings look really good though. Hope to see this one at the club next month. -
Nice work so far on the beast. I still regret giving mine t a modelling friend, who proceeded to mess it up and bin it. Great work on the figures.

Fully understand that, just don't like it.

I also don't like the Second person style of the magazine. When I am reading the magazine the writer is talking to me not a larger audience.

1/48th Tamiya Beaufighter reworked!!!
Silver Fox replied to tonyot's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Top work mate. Good to see you posting again. -
Buoyed up by their first outing on the table a couple of weeks ago, I've been finishing a few more figures. I have just 16 more to paint and the FBG. Basically there is a unit of light horse, sometimes called Stadiots or scurriers, mainly used for scouting and raiding but couple act a skirmishers on the battlefield. There is also a General counting the cost of another brilliant plan and some wounded used as markers in the game. Thanks for looking

The production line of high quality figures continues to impress. Was it the Tsetudo you got from the magazine of the individuals. I know my sprue were just individuals.? I got some Landsknechts this month.

28mm Storming Party with Petard
Silver Fox replied to Jim Wasley's topic in Figure Ready for Inspection
Lovely stuff Jim, Nice work on the basing as well. I believe that the Petard was what we would call a shaped charge today. -
Top stuff JIm, as always.

Heads down as they advance against the crossbows and archery was what I was going for , the rear ranks are happier with their colleagues acting as spaced armour!. I think they can be mixed quite happily, the stature of the figures are compatible and I do swap arms and heads, the middle two figures in the front rank are Perrys with a Warlord head and Warlord with a Perrys. Like I said in another post, because Warlord use different designers they are less consistent in size and detail.
-
More Italian war figures, This is a Landsknecht pike block, with a mix of Perry and Warlord plastic figures and some head and arm swaps. There are a couple of Warlord metals in there as well. A Perry light gun. I have one of there huge Bombards to do at some point The pike block with some halbardiers who were used to break up opposing pike blocks.

28mm Victrix Austrian Landwehr
Silver Fox replied to Jim Wasley's topic in Figure Ready for Inspection
Nice comparison Jim, and very helpful. Stuart, I have mixed Perry Warlord and Victrix together in wargame units happily but for a display group I think that the heads of the Warlord figures are so much bigger than the Perrys they would not pass muster. The different heights of the figures is an advantage as we are not all the same size. It is interesting to compare Perrys and Warlords figures, one of my club members recent bought the WWII US infantry boxes of both manufacturers ans they are very different in both size and physique and the models of the small weapons look completely different scales. I'm building a early renaissance army at the moment and I found that I could swap arms and heads between the Warlord Landsknechts and the Perrys European Infantry boxes with no problem and they looked spot on. I think Warlord use a number of figure designers so Jims chocolate box analogy is spot on. -

Lovely work Jim, my wargamming buddy/opponent is painting some of their Austrian Line at the moment and is really enjoying them. -
Belcher Bits do a early Panzer IV conversion set. I have used their Panzer III set to make a IIIe and found it well worth the money. http://www.belcherbits.com/lines/battalion/bt8.htm

Wow, just Wow. My dad worked for an insurance company in his youth and said they were only interested in insuring outdoor swimming pools against fire. Nothing changes. Ws found that making a nuisance of ourselves to the lLoss adjuster his secretary and the contractor employed got stuff done. I ended up having to project manage them though, for example they painted and wallpapered out lounge finishing on a Tuesday then on the following day another workman came and channelled the freshly decorated walls for the rewiring. I ended up being off wprk for 3 months and that contributed to me having to take 'early retirement'. I wish you all the best and hope you get your home at least sorted soon. Like you say the FOS case is a while away, but it looks promising. If you do make it to Telford , please grab me for a chat. I am fairly visible in Hall one. -
fubar 57, Golden ring or Kit(s). Just for the record, Five of my modelling group have the Mk XIV kit, bought at different stores, both brick and mortar and electronics and they are all well moulded and have no errors. Hope yours are too.,
-
I know that this kit has been hammered online and in print but here is my Airfix Spitfire XIV. I had no short shot parts, no flash no damage canopies, it fitted really well, the fuselage fuel tank clicked into place and the only filler was a touch along the wing roots. Just lucky I guess. I used a very old Aeromaster sheet for the decals and Eye Of the Phoenix by Geoffrey J Thomas for reference. Thank you for looking.

Sorry to hear this, I enjoyed our little chat last year. I full appreciate the chaos you must be living in we had a header tank burst and flooded the house 15 years ago and it took 6 months to get back into the house. That was minor in comparison to your issues. Our insurance was rubbish, thank you Norwich Union and yours sound even worse. Take care Andy -
Glad to be of help. Looking forward to seeing the finished machine.
