Silver Fox

This one was a Christmas present from Mrs Fox, well I chose it but she paid. I built my first attempt at this kit whilst waiting for my daughter to be born, and she is now 20! It is one of the greats from Revell of that era, along with the F-86D, I think it is better engineered than the similarly aged Tamiya kit. Anyway enough of my wittering. Straight from the box apart from the seat belts. Painted with a series of rattle cans The decals are from my dwindling stock pf Aeromaster/Eagle Strike. this time to represent machine from the 79th FBS, 20th FBW at RAF Weathersfield in 1955. The machine was 51-965 which only survived until it crashed on Belgium on the 1st October 1955, sadly killing the pilot. The greatest worry with the kit is that the nose gear leg is so fine that it isn't strong enough to hold the weight ot the rest of the model. The kit is getting hard to find and it's F-84E cousin has never been released in Europe, I hope the new Revell owners realise what a gem they have in their line up Thanks as always for looking.

I have the remnants of the later Revell boxing of this kit you have the choice of a machine from the 75th FIS with a nice Sharkmouth of a slightly bent set for thr445th FIS. I also have the placement instructions which you can have for free.. PM me if interested

Looking good so far, I had similar problems with it and if I ever find another I would omit the cameras. I'm following this one with interest.

I have finished (for the time being at least) my Confederate Wargame army with these two final regiments. Basically it is the remaining two thirds of a box of plastic figures with a few extra metals to add a little uniqueness out the units. There are enough arms in the box to do them all as marching or charging. I used both poses again to make them a bit different The only problem is that my army fitted into a single 'Really Useful Box' These two mean I need another box and then these guys will be sliding around. I fear that more figures will follow.....

I have an Ian Allen book called Beaufort Special published in 1976. Authored by Bruce Robertson. Is this the same book?

I/48th it was a bargain!

This one has been hiding in the stash for quite a few years after I bought it last minute at Telford for £7.00. A bargain but I had no plans for it so it just sat there. I fancied a quick build over the Holiday period, not a blitzbuild as such but a brain cleanser to help with a couple of stalled builds. OOB except for some lead foil seatbelts and a layer of card in-between the wheel halves to beef them up. Of course on seeing the photos I realised I had not fitted the wingtip light covers, which has now been remedied. The markings are those included in various boxing's of the kit but in my case were made up from a set of BFP decals from an old issue of Model Aircraft Monthly from the great days when Neil Robinson was editor. Jim, they were the Confederate Infantry 1861 -65 set. There are arms for the marching or right shoulder shift and for charginging. I'm doing the next regiment in the charging pose. Take care Andy

A pre Christmas shopping expedition with SWMBO to Sheffield allowed me 10 minutes in the local wargames shop, nothing grabbed my attention but an upcoming New Year game of ACW meant I ended up with a box of Perry Rebs. With a bit of padding with a couple of metals will give me 3 regiments, the first is now finished along with the Brigade command base. I'm planning a new Napoleonic force for a potential demonstration game at various local wargames show, Just need to get paid after Christmas.

Steve, I had some 1/144th and 1/72nd RNZAF decals done for friends at Telford so the wee Vampire was done to show what they were getting. I have another to do as a 14 Squadron machine

There seem to be a lot of Red Boxes this year; eight out of 16 finishes, probably a record for me as far a finished kits go.
