  1. Love to know where to get any crew for this beastie. Absolutely nothing close in 1/35 for IJA crew or even soldiers??? Steve,
  2. This is probably the best source on this topic Roger Boniface, MiGs Over North Vietnam: The Vietnamese People's Air Force in Combat 1965-1975 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1902109058/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_4?smid=&psc=1 The color references and research are pretty good & it dispels many myths about the Kill claims from both sides. IT also has some very nice color plates & photography. HTH Steve
  3. Fruitful debate!! Huzzah! Now we will see..... So I am at the crossroad dilemma of my ESCI 1/48 Jaguar Gulf War boxing that was a no cost item. Do I wait for the Maybe 1/48 Airfix new tool, Build the Heller-Airfix when it hits th shelves this year OR_________________________________ ---QUESTION-How bad would it be to build the ESCI kit with some AM-Airwaves for the cockpit , also a pilot figure {this will be an in-flight display] , resin exhaust from Res-Kit, Master pitot set. If I button everything up will it be decent build or is the shape that horrible??? Steve,
  4. What parts are you using from the ESCI kit? I have that kit ...Gulf War boxing Steve,
  5. Just was wondering if anyone thinks perhaps the Airfix mystery release will be a new tool 1/48 Jaguar Gr.1?????????? Please. For Gulf war version for me. Any teeth to this idea?? Steve,
  6. OK Pulled the trigger on the Revell GR.4 in 1/48 It does look rather nice. Will do the Kits World decals and substitute the N for some black ones in my spares! Now to get seats or am I am going to put some blokes in there!!! This maybe a nice inflight display?? It does avoids extensive wheel well work or resin seats. ?? Steve
  7. OK I have been doing some research online and it seems to be a toss up between the Italeri and the newer tooled Revell kit. I am leaning towards the Revell kit GR.4? What is everyone's opinion on building a 1/48 Gulf War Tornado? Best kit to start?? Also Stores for the kit...Best bet??? Resin or are the Revell or Italeri passable?? Also any comments on the Kit World decals https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/KW148126?result-token=hmNf1 https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/KW148132?result-token=hmNf1 BTW_--The Hobbyboss kits seems to have too many boo-boos to fix and not worth comparison?? Steve,
  8. YES a new tool Jaguar is well needed! It seems ALL 1/48 kits of the Jag have issues and problems. The Kittyhawk kit suppose to be the best BUT with many caveats--modular tooling with difficult fit, some inaccurate elements-problems if one wants a very accurate GR.1 -Gulf war. The Old ESCI kit is lambasted BUT I have one. IT is a basic kit and fits well...with a few inaccuracies. IT has raided panel lines but I kinda like it ..IT can be built into something decent--albeit not the most accurate. The Airfix-Heller is good I suppose--with a few fit issues and needs detail and upgrade sets..... SO it really is a matter of what is important when getting this kit in 1/48. A new tooled 1/48 Jaguar series FROM Kinetic would be much welcomed!! Steve,
  9. Kittyhawk Kit s are available again Under Zimi Kittyhawk.... Mostly 1/32 So you can get a F-86D from Sprue Brotehrs: https://spruebrothers.com/zimkh32007-1-32-zimi-model-kitty-hawk-f-86d-sabre-dog/ HTH Steve
  10. Very nice impressive model adn size! Hope my little Bandai comes out as good. Would like a nice kit of Sky-1 too?? Steve,
  11. Gorgeous build Love the scratch work PM on the decals Steve
  12. Top notch gorgeous work on the weathering! Steve

  14. Infinty does a 1/32 Vampire. Dont see it on their website BUT it is available on Ebay or other venues https://www.ebay.com/itm/374509359353?hash=item57327f50f9:g:YEIAAOSwHVZjrMaN&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4OSSBJvCZc5jST1cBmboKeiibxrj2mozXJFJBLdW5tww8gcEDKENNltxGi1jUX%2BUT%2F81aVSRUSorJ59Z29%2F0ucusEaGndbw9cBxWGEF9BeKKb2ZDorWXbR43XAQIjk4vr1uWK6r56eP6%2FQXUtVn3xndsSCsRdc%2FqruPqxevufXyfss7w3WhosNNcVAmaKvTvXhxWR93Xrlz2WER54WrUFNPl7x8ype0UsL6lMkSLsAyBu7Iy3JvnjRPOSAuBkAh%2Fey9rKlU3ZGps3Nxz20MUuolwloClUypO9aYUWr5Z0vWs|tkp%3ABk9SR6ThkumdYw
  15. Ya I guess we will just see more kits of the same thing.....A injection moulded kit would be nice? Dynavector kit is LONG OOP [and expensive] and the ScratchAeronautics is NOT available. 1/72 is NOT much better??? SO perhaps a modern tooling like the Buccaneer?? BTW_ IT seems to be in the works for while... Will it see the light of day in 2024?? Nothing for sale on the website as of now?? Hoping for a bunch of things from this company .......Scimitar, Sea Hornet & of course the mighty F11F-1!!! I will be the first to build them & scream from the rooftops!! I also really miss Fisher Models!! Steve,
  16. OK hopefully we will be able to get one or two in the states. Who is exactly the producer? Will it be distributed through regular channels or direct buy? Steve,
  17. Just curious I built both the Dynavector & ScratchAeronautics kit...but would be nice to see possibly...that Airfix sees fit to do one in 1/48??? I know it is a bit esoteric But they did do a 1/48 Sea Vixen...what a cracker that kit was. Maybe ICM instead?? Steve
  18. True North Paint has many colors and the match maybe one of these: They are enamels very similiar to MM paints. Can be thinned with Lacquer Thinner https://www.truenorthpaints.com/paintstore Fluorescent Red FS # 28915 $5.99 International Orange FS # 12197 $5.99 Gloss Arctic Red FS # 11120 $5.99 Insignia Red FS # 11136 $5.99 Flat Insignia Red FS # 31136 $5.99 Fluorescent Red Orange FS# 28913 $5.99 Coast Guard Red#40 FS# 12199 $5.99 Coast Guard Orange FS# 12250 $5.99 I am leaning towards Gloss Arctic Red FS 11120 Steve
  19. Nice sharp build there of the KH kit. I have built their kits in the past; F-101, F9F-8, F-94C etc... So I understand they are not unbuildable. My question is about the 1/48 ESCI kit? Is it a decent outline? Is it inaccurate. All I am seemed to be finding is it has raised panel lines and not a lot of details...Which can be addressed. I have the Desert Storm boxing Any suggestions?? Steve,
  20. WOW Makes me say Why NOT ....To build an old 1/48 ESCI kit. It was given to me. IT has raised panel lines but is the outline accurate? The fit is pretty good..after a tape together of major components and no access panels to close up. The decals arent bad either & it is NOT the soft plastic but hard if I wanted to re-engrave. Any thoughts ?? Steve,
  21. I guess I should just throw it away Steve
  22. I think a good 1/72 kit to compare against would be the PJ Productioins kit. That is the one I built and it was the most accurate at the time. Steve
  23. That is a nice feature of the Airfix kit! Not available 10 years ago... Lets hope this new tool 1/48 F-86A will address all this and make nice earlier war Sabre!!. Like the Bronco represents the earlier version of the Mig-15!! Steve,
  24. NOT my best work as the Scobie do wing did NOT fit well ....and required quite a bit of feddling...I still regret not sanding more....NM finish shows everything. This was built about 10 years ago. Hopefully my skills have progressed LOL Steve,
