I like it James but I think I liked it more before the exhaust staining if I may seem a bit heavy to my eyes.

They had some beautiful lines for sure. -
Never thought you did just curiosity I thought. It was a simple deal for the most part and I thought the mines added a bit also. Thanks it's to bad that the maritime venue is not more popular I desire competition which if it showed I probably would hardly place and most of my builds are for fun only ...Sharnhorst......she's different.

It was known to be used in fact Revell even produced a later version with the Flakerling I had to acquire the kit and build the base to make it work.I think if you think about it having that armament on a boat as such would be an improvement.I was about to at the time devise a different armament for the boat on the secondary ,middle placement gun and was informed by one that that configuration never occurred so I went the historical route not the badass route.

Last of the pics I also used the Eduard PE kit was very Nice for the build.

I built this one in 2023 for a GB on another forum.I added the flakerling and scratched the mines(plastic,PE and wooden balls).I took first place at IPMS show in LA competition was kinda light maybe about 8/10 entries in that group. The railings are also scratched built plastic rod, brass rod and .015" guitar wire the tensile ability was quite useful. The chain was perfect for the scale 72 links to the inch so one inch links in real life. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it.

CJ I kinda like the deck is that the wood laminate deck stained?I tried staining a portion of my Sharnhorst deck came out like crap let say the laminate needed to be a different material. You caught my attention with the handrails at the forefront of the SS behind B turret. The rigging another thing I strive to get right you did really well and it looks busy German/Japanese ships are that way.The fellas over here do some Very Nice work you included! -

Nice subject matter/conversion!I find the ICM kits are on par with Tamyia at a reduced price I built there A-26 Invader in 1/48 with Eduard Nice Nice fit. -
Now that is one interesting scheme but can you imagine the noise for the passengers?

😄You got that right

Jon I built the Revell version a boat of the later version/cabin one of the enhancements I did was making new stanchions out of hollow soft brass(.030") for the cable up top and plastic rod(.030').I made a simple jig to be sure all the rods came out the same length and cut the soft brass by eyeball with a gentle roll under a sharp blade easy peasy.I would dip the plastic rod in SG and just get close to the brass it sucked it up like a magnet.I then got some .015" guitar string and ran it for the cables. A final pic just for the results if a problem more than happy to remove just trying to show what can be done.

The Scharnhorst 1/200 by Trumpter-Operation Paderborn
javlin replied to javlin's topic in Work in Progress - Maritime
Thanks you fellas she's a real joy to work on,I try to work on the ship at least 5 days a week at 1/3 hour intervals depending on the eyes so if it seems I am posting to often just PM me please. The launches are done I used tissue paper glued to the frames with white glue dry, brush with water and it tightens. The life preservers were done with a Waldron punch set on some .020" card. The instructions has me move on to the hanger to which I have to scrap off six rows of ladders/handrails and make new ones it's happened already everywhere else.Good evening in my neck of the world and God Bless. Yes a little more touch-up definitely needs a little bit more TLCOh yeah the center launch I am thinking if possible to roll the tarp up to the front she came out the best of the three so show it off. Some of the previous railing they also follow the hull.I make each one by hand out of soft brass .013" stock. -
