  1. Etienne, thinking green on sand, then if I mess up green, or black on green John, the external seam lines for the exhausts are smooth I believe, ran my nail along them and couldn't feel any ridges. If not its no biggie, they'll match my seamtastic barrel. Mistakes learnt on this build will be remembered for the next, can only improve Could try to fill the inner seams.
  2. Corsair, I'd love to do the mk10 in the future with the Berlin camo . My air brushing skills are null and void at the moment, may be next year. Blackmax, see what you mean about fingerprints, luckily mine were on parts with no detail. Just left to dry and carefully sanded them off The model is coming along slowly, far too much red wine over the weekend. only had a fit problem with the upper and lower turret, though it could have been a wine related fit problem My first attempt at photo etch, OMG Managed to stick it to pretty much everything but the model, tweezers, cocktail sticks, fingers. Not happy with the grills around the engine bay but hey ho. Strangely the ones i was dreading, the brackets around the headlight cages, turned out to be simple. Ordered some kicker before tackle the lase cage. A couple more sub-assemblies to do then its off to practise airbrushing, once the paint arrives.
  3. Hey Guys I bring to you my first build log, the rather lovely Chieftain mk.11 from Takom. I chose this kit mainly due to the brilliant build logs on Youtube, I wanted something with fiddly little parts, a bit of PE and I could follow along to for my maiden voyage. I'm already a week into the build and loving it so far, i forgot how relaxing cutting, sanding and gluing can be, beats watching the junk on the TV. Here's what i have so far. Seamline hell! I've scraped, sanded, scraped and sanded, will probably need more scraping and sanding I got carried away gluing, those exhausts are going to be a pain to paint. So far no issues with fit, the size of the gates are questionable, they are huge. OH and extra thin cement is pure witchcraft, so much better than the tubes of cement I used many years ago Anyway that's it for now. Going to make a start on the lower hull and more stowage boxes
  4. Hi Everyone I'm Louise, from Birmingham. After nearly 20 years from building my last model, AMT's Deep Space Nine with lighting, I've decided to start again and Learn from the experts. Absolutely love anything Sci-fi related, but will also build anything that takes my fancy.
