  1. Is this any use to you as Chris said. FRXIVe (G-FIRE) The Planes of Fame Spitfire F.R.14e, is a composite with the fuselage of F.R.14e (NH904) and the wing from F.XIV (RM694). It has two combat records. NH904 served with 414 Squadron (RCAF) in WWII and postwar with 610 Squadron (RAF) before transfer to Belgium. The wings were scrapped, but the fuselage survived. RM694 claimed a V-1 kill with 91 Squadron (RAF) and later flew with 402 Squadron (RCAF). In 1966, RM694's wings and NH904's fuselage were mated. Restoration to flying condition took place in Great Britain, and as G-FIRE, she flew again in March 1981. NH904 came to the Museum in 1989 painted in the colors of a Spitfire 24 based in Hong Kong with 80 Squadron (RAF) in 1950. The Spit is mostly red with white trim. The wings are red on the top and bottom with a red stripe
  2. My Orange Spitfire finished and ready. It belong to the Schreiner Airways Texel and used as a target tug. LF IXc. PT986. 16-09-1948. 01-10-1948. H-27 & 3W-16. PH-NFP. 13-07-1954 from KLu to Schreiner. 08-08-1957 officially written off and scrapped. I think my next Spitfire has got to be LF IXc PT986 before it became a target tug.Now to find out more about her.

  7. A little bit mor work to to my Spitfire, and not quit looking has orange red in this light. So will leave it in the orange she is.I think a coat of mat varnish and then the black paint. Canopy just place on,will fix that last.
  8. Hi Jan yes I did see the picture. I have not seen the one in the link before, so thank you for that.. Now I do not know what to do about the orange keep it as it is or go for a more yellow orange . Interesting to see that North American AT-6 Harvard. I may See if I can get a kit in 1/72 to build
  9. I know that in the Photo its more of a yellow orange so I may have to give it another coat.
  10. Hi Jan I am doing Spitfire Mk.IX, PH-NFP as in the picture belowe. Hi Beard, I keeped droping the stubs so put those on ready to chop down, a lot easyer for me.. Im going on the picture I've put up.
  11. I'm liking and learning with all of this. Now I know how to make the harness: .Its looking the part already.
  12. Will be watching this build and learning. I have a airfix BAe Sea Harrier FA2 to build, mine will be a fun build I think. Looking forward to seeing more.
  13. Undercoat on and orange topcoat on I used a mix of Tamiya orange X-6 and clear red X-27, the orange on it own was just to light.
  14. Got the nose sorted I think. Will have to fill in a bit where the Exhaust go.
  15. Now that is some build, the detail you have put into it. It really is ace.
  16. Looks nice and well made,Not been on here long so will look forward to seeing more of your builds, and this one finished.
  17. A bit more shapping and putty on the nose, will leave it till tomorrow now to harden.
  18. Its your fault Beard. NOW IM NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY ABOUT THE NOSE.. So thinking cap on and this is what i've come up with if it works. Measured how much sort it was, then glued a piece of balsa wood on and filled the gaps with putty. Now wait for it to all dry and start to shap it, easyer said than done me thinks.
  19. Looking good, like the paint work. Comming along nicely by the look of it.Looking forward to seeing more.
  20. Thank you for your very kind offer. I have a spare four-blade propeller and I think I have the right Exhaust. I have seen and watch some off your builds, they are really good. I have been watching and learning from you and getting one or two idea's.
  21. Thanks for the info about the radiator fairing. Never thought about the nose and how to extend it,That will teach me ( no it wont )I've just measured The Revell Mk V and my Eduard MkIXc and the nose is the same lenght or close enought for me ( my eye sight is not as good as it used to be, thats my excuse ). Not going to be any thing to fancy on this build, just me learning and trying how to make a mass off things
  22. I like and well made to, really nicely painted.
