  1. She sure is mate. I cannot do the shelves due to my disability,...... and she is better at DIY than me anyway,...... she has had to be unfortunately,..... first when I was away in the Army,.... and then after my injury!
  2. Hiya Bud,.... I wouldn`t say that,.... but the walk way lines on grey and green camouflaged RAF Herks were yellow with red hatchings. Not sure about the Light Stone and Dark Earth initial camo,....in its early glossy form it didn`t appear to have any,......but the later matt version could have done mind you? Photos of the upper wings in these schemes are hard to find on line and are not conclusive, but they do appear in books and the hatchings are very evident. . The walkways lines changed on the later grey aircraft and then overall green.
  3. Cheers Ed,... very kind of you mate. If there is something we are not short of here at the moment is facemasks!! For the mould on the models I`ll be taking them outside,..... if it ever stops raining that is! We have black mould here,..... but this sort of mould in the cellar is new to me,...... mainly white, some with a yellow tinge,...... smells really mushroomy,...... not nice stuff! Thanks again folks, Tony
  4. No worries mate,.... glad to help,..... it is a very good book too.
  5. Hello, As the title says,..... I do hope that Hannants will please consider re releasing their RAF Hercules stencil and national marking sheet X030-72 for a grey and green Herk? The walk way lines in the new Zvesda kit are wrong and are just yellow lines,.... rather than yellow with red hatchings. They had a sheet for the 25th Anniversary RAF Hercules which included a sheet of stencils and national markings,..... that would be brilliant for the new kit. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/xtradecal-x030-72-hercules-wing-walks--148965 https://www.scalemate

  7. That is a shame Jan,...... hopfully Xtradecal will re release their RAF Hercules stencil and national marking sheet for a grey and green Herk then? Cheers mate Tony
  8. Not got my kit(s) yet,...... have Zvesda got the RAF wing walk decals correct,..... yellow with red hatching,....... or are they simply yellow lines? On the pre production decal views they looked like simple yellow lines,....... I did contact them about this but they never got back to me. Really looking forward to building this kit, Cheers Tony
  9. Lovely modelling,..... .....my only slight criticism is that Airborne Trailers would be heaped full of kit with the tarp stretched over the top. Brilliant stuff, Tony
  10. Simply gorgeous,.... and now that you have done all of that Tamiya will now announce a B.Mk.IV kit,..... it is Sod`s Law!! Cheers Tony
  11. Thanks again folks,..... yeah I`m OK thanks for the offer of kits,..... I have quite a large stash in the loft! For those that have not seen what it looked like before,..... here is the cellar before the flood; Cheers Tony
  12. I`m currently building the 72 Sqn Spitfire and while researching it I found that it did not have any upper wing roundels at the time it was coded SD-H! There is a small photo showing an upper quarter view of it on page 18 of Wingleader`s excellent Spitfire Mk.I book! Check out this link,..... the photo is on a sample page! https://uploads-ssl.webflow.com/5a3134b40672a700015a5d31/5ea6cf979a5ca9e4fe65a619_Spitfire Bookbrochure.pdf I love the 602 Sqn scheme too! Cheers Tony
  13. Wow,... thanks for your kind offers folks but I should be OK ta,...... got quite a stash in the loft and elsewhere! No we didn`t claim on the insurance,.... no claims bonus and all that,...... and many of the models were quite old anyway,...... we`ve had a few ankle deep floods before but this 20-30 minute torrential tropical style downpour caused the deepest flood we`ve ever had,...... when my missus went down the plastic shelving units were all floating around with models tipping off and the water looked like there had been a mass ditching by a carrier air wing! The water was
  14. Very nice indeed and interesting too. I built a pre production kit as an Italian aircraft but want to make a Dutch one too, Cheers Tony
  15. Thanks everybody,..... glad you like them and I did say I would update you! Yes mate,.... lost over 100 models,........ might have to throw some more yet if I cannot clean them up. All the best Tony
  16. Hobbyboss have put the F4U-4 kit sprues in the box,..... it isn`t a Corsair Mk.III or any sort of early Corsair variant at all! When HB first released their F4U-4 kit they mistakenly added outer wings with British style clipped wings and it looks like these have thrown them again!
  17. Hiya Folks,....... thanks to all those who have asked about the flood....... well my brilliant missus has built a new set of shelves to replace the soggy, mouldy wooden ones using corrugated plastic sheet!! Just need to fill them with the surviving models now! EDIT,.... Here is the cellar before the flood! Cheers Tony
  18. I read it,.... think it was Ronnie Hay who wrote it,..... he was an Air Group Commander at the time. I have built an earlier release as an RN Corsair,.... that kit had the correct 3 blader prop at least,...... but it isn`t a patch on the Tamiya kit with lots of errors. If I remember correctly,.... when Hobbyboss released their F4U-4 kit it had the same sprues,..... complete with incorrect British style clipped wings! Cheers Tony
  19. Cheers bud,.... I`ll dig an Airfix kit out and give it a try.
  20. I read that Lloyds of London revealed the ship tried to put the stowaways ashore in Spain and in France but they were refused. This was almost a carbon copy of a job in 2018,.... again a ship from Nigeria and the Shaky Boats did good then too!
  21. Thank you Finn,..... if I get no joy in the UK I shall certainly take you up on your kind offer,.... I would of course pay for postage, Cheers Tony Thanks Mark,..... appreciate you looking mate,..... ta.
