Mike,... I did a 1/32nd build of this Corsair some time ago with photos and film of the wreckage,...... and the poor lad flying it, 19 year old Lt. Sub. Lt. Raymond Knott is still inside the cockpit of JT630 at the bottom of Lake Sebago,..... hence it is a war grave.

Hello Alain,....... sorry but the publisher pulled the carpet from under me with the book! At first they decided to cut the book in half and do two volumes, then at the last minute they cut the final chapter from the first book,...leaving the ending at a stupid date! They then decided not to go ahead with volume 2,....... so it will not be released now.

Very nice,... there is a section of strut on display in Malta from one of the Heinkels which crashed soon after take off. Those flying from Malta appear to have had the insignia painted over at some stage,.... see the attached story for more info; https://timesofmalta.com/articles/view/aviation-museum-on-the-hunt.127627

Agreed Giorgio,..... and I built my 274 Sqn model as a Mk.Vc too,....... like you, I`d like to see a photo of ER318 too.

LOL,.... Mike,... mate I`ve only had the one and built it mate,......... although I am looking forward to the cheaper boxing and may buy a few of these,..... I do have some nice decal options lined up to build after all. I did send pics of my model to Arma,..... but they chose not to use them,..... ah well!

Thanks for that,..... I wasn`t going to bother again,..... but I will give it a coat of looking at.

I`ve answered your query re my depiction of OB-R looking too dark over there where you moved it Dave.... repeated here for clarity; 13 minutes ago, David Womby said: Tony I know I've read elsewhere that late TFXs were delivered in EDSG/Sky but looking at photos of OB-Z RD784 and your build of OB-R, EDSG seems too dark even allowing for fading. What did you use on your OB-R build, please? I am inclined to use DSG on my current build of OB-Z. David Aeromaster EDSG if I remember correctly,.... which is a very faded version of the colour,........ with panel lines picked out in Humbrol EDSG,......... if you want to depict them mega faded like they can appear in some pics,..... just use Ocean Grey. Remember that in some b&w photos,..... the bright tropical sunlight reflecting off the aircraft can make them look more faded than they actually were. A cloud goes over or it rains and they look more representatively darker straight away. Edited 2 minutes ago by tonyot

Squadron 45 Beaufighter color scheme question
tonyot replied to 28ZComeback's topic in Aircraft Cold War
If you mean the brick red colour,...... it was a doped fabric strip that was applied over the fairing screws to stop them from shaking loose when the cannons were fired. -

I`ve been disappointed by Flypast magazine in the past few months,...... has anybody else found that the quality of articles has gone down hill? I know that COVID might have caused an effect somehow,..... but I`ve been flicking through it quickly and just not found it engaging at all.
