    Hello Sir, 

     

    Fellow Britmodellers inform me that you are an expert on the Lockheed Ventura.

     

    I was wondering if you knew of the RAF Iraq Communications Flight—I am researching the Iraq Communications Flight, 1945-49 and haven’t located a source of information. Do you know if the silver Ventura’s of this unit had green or black nacelles?  Were they used for agent insertion and/or reconnaissance work? Thank you very much and any reference to unit history and/or photos appreciated.

      Hello,.... I wouldn`t call myself an expert,.... but I am aware of the Iraq Comms Flt Ventura`s. I know of two that were finished in overall bare metal and the nacelles do look dark green to me. I don`t think that they were used for agent insertion,.... simply for VIP and comms work.

      No worries,....The few pics that I have seen look quite dull silver,..... it could be painted silver or just weathered bare metal.
