  1. Excellent rendition! Maybe you have mentioned it before, but what paints and technique(s) do you use to achieve such a smooth finish with a brush?
  2. Very nice finish! If you don’t mind me asking, what technique did you use to paint your model (i.e. wet palette, straight from the bottle, etc.)?
  3. If you aren’t adverse to using Vallejo Model Color (I find they brush pretty well using a wet palette technique), I found this here: https://i.4pcdn.org/tg/1474297046471.pdf. On page 11, it recommends mixing two parts 70.905 and one part 70.991 for Medium Sea Grey. For Ocean Grey it recommends two parts 70.868, one part 70.900, & one part 70.904. I haven’t tried it so I can’t comment one way or the other on accuracy but maybe it’s worth a shot. To confuse the issue even more Vallejo Model Color does have a Medium Sea Grey (70.870) in its range.
  4. I really like it, especially including the figure which adds a sense of scale to the diorama. I didn’t realize the T-VIII was so large.
  5. Good afternoon/evening, all! So as a place holder for my first ever Britmodeller group build I will be building the following: Academy 1/72 P-51 Mustang, kit # 12401 Airfix 1/72 F-51D Mustang, kit # A02047, with the addition of SAAF decals Ace Corporation 1/48 A-36 (Rebox Accurate Miniatures) I will post kit contents’ images on the 9th of March and build in serial as I am a horrible multi-tasker. Unless otherwise noted the kits will be built oob. Thanks for the opportunity!
  6. My take from “across the pond” and with 25 years of service in the US Army is that defense establishments and policy makers are horrible at predicting the future threat(s) which of course drive training, manning, and equipping the force. More often than not we get it wrong and are forced to react rapidly. Not sure if this holds true for our British/NATO friends but I saw it play out in the GWOT era (where CT and COIN were preeminent) and then in the recent shift back to the more “near peer”, large scale, high intensity, traditional combat mindset. Because of the singular focus on CT/COIN, the US Army had lost almost two full decades of doctrine development and fielding of systems that are required in the return to a more traditional role. No one has a crystal ball and the “enemy” always gets a vote.
  7. Really excellent work! The Ottoman ensign adds great interest.
