  1. A wooden toothpick ( cocktail stick ) with the tip smoothed will remove the sanding dust as well as gently burnish the scribed line....Works equally well on resin or plastic.Looking very good! Paul
  2. Hi Greg, Parcel of goodies on the way to you at last, and have a look at the wing planform while you're fixing the kit, it is too narrow in chord when viewed from the top, at least it looks that way to me from inspecting my copy of the kit. Best, Paul
  3. Have built both the Falcon kit and the ID Models in 1/48 long ago and they are both quite good.Been wanting to do up one in 1/32 as a resin kit for ages but can't imagine it would do very well sales wise.Maybe a 1/32 vac kit would do all right, it could be made much less expensively, at least the big parts. .
  4. When I first hired into the Northrop model shop , the shop supervisor kept me after hours to paint up a 1/40 model of what was then called the F-5G in that red and white scheme with the black stripes in an effort to see if I was truly proficient in the uses of the airbrush and all that....It was a real bear to do under his watchful eye, but came off very well.I still have the paint layouts somewhere in the files. Did all sorts of lovely models of the F-5G during my stay there, even nice big 1/10th scale stuff for the Paris Airshow, I have a great affection for that ship. They even had me carve one in naval brass in 1/200 scale that was gold plated and then mounted in one of those clocks in a glass dome.To think I got paid for such fun! Happy times. Paul

  6. A few pics of the first test build of my new X-1A / B kit for those of us into the X-Planes.Surprising how much it differs from the original XS-1, there's really not much in common. Kit has parts and decals to do early and late versions of both the A and the B, both with and without the ejection seat fitted after Chuck Yeager's wild ride. Boarding ladders included too! Hope you like it! Paul Fisher
  7. Hi All, Just got the decals and p/e in here, for our T.7 conversion in 1/32 scale. We'll be able to start shipping these by the end of next week. I'm hoping to get one painted up over the weekend but it's going to rain so we shall see! NF.11 on the bench now too... Best, Paul Fisher
  8. I've been working on one for awhile now, hope to have it done early next year. have to finish all these Meteor conversions first! Paul Fisher
  9. Many thanks! It took a bit of head scratching to make it work but that's the fun part of the job...or so I'm told! And yes...it's really hard to imagine the thoughts of the crew watching that thing get strapped on knowing that one slip and it's a fireworks display. They built their aviators tough back then. More soon! Paul
  10. I have for many , many years wanted to build another Hasegawa B-47 to replace the one I did in 19 and 75...it's a great, but very old kit and needs some detail here and there to really make it eye catching. First up was to master the 33, 000 pound thrust "horse collar " JATO unit. This nifty set is now available on the website for those of us Cold Warriors who want to add some additional thrust. Dropped flaps and some corrected radomes / ECM fit are up next, as well as a few conversions. Have a look, and thanks! Paul Fisher Fisher Model & Pattern www.fishermodels.com
  11. I don't have the kit anymore, but they show up in the "under the table" boxes at shows over here ...doing a big IPMS show in June and I will see if I can dig one or two up if anyone's interested...probably cost more to ship it to the UK than the cost of the kit though! Michael could very well find one at the upcoming shows down his way in Texas.. I am pretty certain I have a few spare Northwest decals from the kit though. Cheers, paul
  12. Probably the old J&L Models kit, then sold on to MHW and then again someone else. I was a youngster working for Jack Stackhouse at J&L while he made the masters for the DC-7, it came with nice Northwest decals by Lloyd Jones at Scalemaster, white metal LG legs and props, some of which are still rattling around in my spares box after nearly 40 years. It was a fine kit, both for its time, and still could build up into a stunner with a bit of care. Paul
  13. Would love to join in on this...I have a number of racing planes laying about half built and just today got the first test shot of the Bugatti 100P in 1/24th scale built up...glad to be done with it and getting it into production.Might have to do a DH-88 Comet like this to 1/24th soon, it's a very nice scale to work in for smaller aircraft.
  14. That, sir, is spectacular. My modelling mojo is always at low-ebb this time of years and your Vanguard has brought quite a smile to this old model makers face.... Hat's off to you and I think I will just go and hoist a glass to a real work of art. Happy New year! Paul
  15. Just a quick note to thank you all for not only your patience, but for your support of the F.8 set, we are a bit overwhelmed trying to pack and ship them, many don't know there's just one person in here doing all that packing and boxing and wrapping , my lovely wife! She's doing her best while I make more molds and Susan, our casting tech makes more parts. And I am serious about the Dragmaster...if enough of you really want one in 1/32, we can make it happen. It will be a bit largish, and would not be cheap to do, but it is high ( very high) on my list of favorite jets. Anybody have a repair or servicing manual? Lots of good tech drawings in those things. back to work, it's not even 5:00 here! Thanks again Paul Fisher
