  1. Wow! đź‘Ź. What a fantastic build. Inspiring! Thanks for sharing.
  2. Thanks for the advice Davey. Much appreciated. I’ll probably go with the ushci then as I have only 1/72 kits in the stash at the moment. 👍
  3. That is fabulous Pat. The metal finishes aft are cracking! Inspired me get my Airfix FG.1 nearer to to top of the “to do pile”!
  4. Thanks for looking guys. I’ve been toying with the idea of investing in some ez line or the uschi equivalent. I know it comes in different grades. What would you suggest would be good for 1/72 scale wires? Fine, extra fine etc...? In regard to the mast, that is one thing I’d hope Revell would address if they were to re-tool it ever. The masts (main and tail) were both molded one onto the fuselage/tail. No way I was going to keep them in one piece during the build. I replaced the tail one with a bit of brass rod and Inserted a Length into the main mast (terminology check needed). Still couldn’t get the bugger to sit upright so had to settle with the slight recline to get a good bond.
  5. Hi Pat. Thanks for looking and your kind comments. Exhaust stains were with pastels. Started with white, dotted on at then dragged and shaped with a brush. Then added brown and a little black in the same manner but with decreasing length and width of how the additional colours were dragged and shaped.
  6. Technical difficulties (user error) have now been overcome.
  7. Hi All. This is my first upload on RFI so bare with please. Kit was picked up for £5 at the Kenley aero jumble a couple of months ago. Everything was intact, very little flash but decals looked a little stained by some moisture. Luckily they behaved well, if a little thick. Build was very enjoyable. Loved the simplicity of it especially the undercarriage. Used the Eduard Zoom for the cockpit but the kit canopy although it comes in two parts, the sliding part will not rest in the slid back position so this detail was lost. I had the rob Taurus vac form canopy but confidence that I could use it evaded me. Cannons are from master and a real upgrade on kit parts. Painted with an HS ultra using Vallejo Model Air. Weathering done by cheap oil paints, pastels and grey and silver artists pencils. I make no claim to accuracy of how this airframe looked in regard to weathering. Only picture I could find was it on its nose on the flight deck. I have yet to decide which weathering teqniques work for me on differing subjects so I’m doing a lot in an effort to try and get used to them. Been doing the hobby just over a year now so still finding my feet. Enough waffle, here she is NF728. Thanks for looking and thanks to the Hurricane boys and girls for help with photo etch questions.
  8. Following with interest as I have one on the go too (sans rockets). Tidy work Avereda! Looks good!
  9. Guys’, many thanks for all your help. All folded and installed.
  10. I have the Eduard zoom PE set for the 1/72 Revell Hurricane mk iic and am looking for a bit of guidance in the folding procedure for the rudder pedals please. Wondering if anyone who has done this kit has used this particular PE set and can help? As usual the instructions simply show what the completed part should look like. Rest of the parts seem pretty intuitive but the pedals seem to me to be delving into the realms of origami! My brain simply can’t resolve the steps. Part is still on the fret and didn’t want to guess and end up with a horrible mess. Any help greatly appreciated! Many thanks!
  11. I think if it were a single canopy for the usual couple of quid, I would have taken the punt and bought a couple (allowing for inevitable mistake) but I have taken Beefy up on his kind offer. Hope I can help out with something. Pob luc gan chi Cymraeg! Trio SSIW (say something in Welsh) Ma’en dda iawn!
  12. Thanks Chally, that was the only one i’d come across. I toyed with it and as it didn’t say it was specifically for the trumpeter kit I thought I’d give it a miss. Is this a very novice oversight on my part? With something like a canopy should it not matter too much on the “intended for use with” caveat? Diolch yn ddefnyddiol iawn I chi! A ydych siarad Cymreag naturoil neu ddysgwr fel fi?
