  1. Hi Folks, As promised in my poll, here are a few pictures of my PCM Spitfire, dodgy invasion stripes, silvered decals, bad construction and all. I bought the kit in July from Hannants on a trip to That London. (Think I might have seen Bob von Booby Buckle in there that day :-) )
  2. Hi everyone, A couple of my mates at the model club are building the Trumpeter 1/32nd scale corsair and they want to know if anyone does decals for FAA Corsairs and also for "Pappy" Boyington's aircraft. Thanks in advance. Simon.
  3. Hi, No pitfalls whatsoever. It flew together beautifully. Undercart's a bit complex, that's all
  4. Hi everyone, Here's my latest effort, an F6F-3 Hellcat. The kit's an absolute bargain for 16 quid, and it took me about 3 weeks to do it. The photgraphic studio's the highly glamorous piece of land behind my factory... First photo, front 3/4 view.. Second photo, a glimpse of the cockpit detail Third photo, the underside and my mucky fingernails And finally, the port side... Paints used were a mixture of Gunze, Tamiya and Vallejo Model Air. The antenna was made from black plastic thread. Enjoy!!
  5. Excellent work..hope mine turns out as good when I get round to it...
  6. That's looking reet smart, that is...I've got this one in the stash, so I'll be keeping a beady eye on this thread (got to finish my Bf110 first, and at the pace that's going, that'll be sometime round Christmas :-) ). Are there any fit problems or pitfalls I should be looking out for when nailing the beastie together?
  7. I built their Panzer IV ausf.D kit a while back. The upper hull fits a lot better than the Dragon E I made 3 years ago. Just read the instructions very carefully when building the suspension units, and make sure you have the right hubs on the wheels The separate wingnuts on the little sprues are a good idea, just make sure you have a nice sharp knife. Mine came out all right anyway...
  8. Very smart .Now I know what to aspire to when I start mine
  9. Can't wait to see this in the flesh (as it were) at Perth.
  10. SRBP can also be very dark brown to black. (I use it all the time on transformer panels and we also have bobbins made from it).
  11. You could always use the Model Air matt varnish if you wanted. A bottle has lasted me for about 10 models so far. Just don't forget to shake the bottle well...
  12. Thanks for the compliments, guys, blushing now . I'll do a few more piccies next week, when I get back to work (the model's in my office and SWMBO's got me decorating next week).
  13. Hi everyone, Here's my latest armour build. It's the Dragon Stug IIIG by Dragon, in the "Georg Bose" boxing. It's also my first attempt at a winter cam. Weathering's by Mig pigments, sprayed through the airbrush.
  14. It broke off, unfortunately. Little too delicate for my sausage fingers...
  15. Hi everyone, Here are a few of my aircraft builds, actually the ones that are sitting on the display shelves in my office. Please excuse the poor photography... First up, a Tamiya Mossie, built OOB, sprayed in Vallejo ModelAir paints. Next, a Tamiya F4U-1D with etched brass seatbelts and engine wiring. Third, Trumpy P-47 Razorback. I ditched the kit seatbelts for Eduard pre-printed ones. Then another P-47, this time the Hasegawa one, painted in Vallejo paints again, except the invasion stripes, which were done in Tamiya paints. Next, an Eduard Bf-108 in German Embassy colours. This is the third one I've made and the first one not to be damaged by a cat... And finally, a Hasegawa F-104 in NASA colours Enjoy!!
  16. Very smart. I like the cam! nice subtle weathering too.
  17. Thanks, Bex. It's the first one I've done in ages. I'm more into my WingyThingys these days, (said the man with the Stug III on his bench)...makes a nice change building armour every now and then.
  18. Hi Everyone, My latest build, a Tristar Panzer IV ausf. D that I got from Stockton Model Show a few months back Built OOB, painted in Tamiya acrylics and weathered with Mig pigments. Lovely build, I actually think it goes together better than the Dragon kits.
  19. I used the radome as a tail support on mine. Not accurate I know, but it looks good. I went to "the Flambards Experience" in 2005 and the Gannet was outside the entrance then. Oh, and nice Gannet too. I love Gannets, they're just so heroically ugly.
  20. That's exceedingly nice...just got this kit the other day with my birthday money and I fancy starting it now (once I've got my Stug III out of the way).
