  1. Marvellous finesse! Pure inspiration. Kind regards, Joachim
  2. Very, very nice! Looks absolutely spot on! Kind regards, Joachim
  3. A clever idea and very well executed! The forced perspective is very convincing – you can almost hear the roar of the engines. Kind regards, Joachim
  4. The actual cowling part, yes. But the area between the cowling and the windscreen is not divided. Sorry if I'm splitting hairs – it's a really nice model! Kind regards, Joachim
  5. Very nice and proper build, definitely looking the part! The Mustang certainly appears a different creature in RAF clothes… Just one small nitpick: the top of the nose would have looked even better if that rather pronounced joint line had been filled and sanded, don't you think? Kind regards, Joachim
  6. It has that elusive 'real' feeling. Top drawer modelling! Kind regards, Joachim
  7. That is one seriously impressive Lightning, with a beautiful NM finish. Pure inspiration! Kind regards, Joachim
  8. So, the idea of winglets on today's passenger jets isn't new… Seriously, a skilled and artistic rendition that could easily pass for 1:48th. A looker! Kind regards, Joachim
  9. Amazing, and humbling, how skilled modelling can transform these 'crude' old kits. That superb rigging is the icing on the cake. Really impressive! Kind regards, Joachim

As Troy explains so well, definitely go down the 'rod reinforcement' route, if you want them 'planes to stay fixed! Butt-glueing the tailplanes will leave a weak joint, whatever glue you use. You could also use hard brass or steel pins as reinforcement. And as pte1643 says, use liquid polystyrene glue for the final joint, since it welds the plastic together. Good luck and kind regards, Joachim
  11. So nice to see a representation of a German fighter that doesn't look like an exercise in armoured vehicle weathering techniques! The Luftwaffe took care of their aircraft and your FW 190 looks just right to my eyes, with immaculate finish and subtle weathering where it belongs. Top job! Kind regards, Joachim
  12. The Pyro Gladiator was always a classy kit, in spite of its age. You've done it proud and the rigging looks just right. Well done indeed! Kind regards, Joachim
  13. Very 'real' looking! Classy job indeed. Kind regards, Joachim
  14. Creative modelling and an excellent result! Kind regards, Joachim
  15. …and ready to take off on a dawn patrol. Museum quality, obviously. I do like that subtle effect of semitranparency on the wing undersides! Awesome build. Kind regards, Joachim
  16. Those 1950:s jets have a wonderful, quirky character all of their own. Your model captures it admirably – clean, colourful and with a whiff of Flash Gordon. Great build! Kind regards, Joachim
  17. OK, but there are two very different thicknesses of EZ Line. Also, sprue can be stretched very thin, depending on the plastic used, in fact thinner than a human hair. Best, Joachim
  18. Impressive sense of 'real'. Museum quality in plain sight! Congrats! Kind regards, Joaxhim
  19. What with all the flak that has been levelled at the Academy XIV, it sure looks convincing in your rendition. The ground crew add a lot of life, too. Maybe it would have been worth while separating the elevators – they would typically droop in that kind of situation. Very nice work! Kind regards, Joachim
  20. Very convincing rendition of a somewhat war weary machine! Really good work. Kind regards, Joachim
  21. Very convincing 109! Impressive finish and detail work. Incidentally, the name of the pilot you refer to is Ludwig Franzisket. He had an interesting post war career, entering the University of Münster where he eventually got his PhD in biology and later became Professor. He died in 1988 at the age of 71 years. Kind regards, Joachim
  22. Interesting pic, not least because it's one of the few I can remember showing a parked Spit with dropped flaps. /Joachim
  23. Nice to see that old friend so nicely built, rigged and finished. Good job on a venerable and very basic kit! If I may pick nits, the radio antenna arrangement looks a bit heavy for the scale. EZ Line would have been a more scale like choice of material (http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=45073). Kind regards, Joachim
  24. Very neat and proper build! A photographic hint: when you're taking model pictures in harsh light, such as direct sunlight, you can bring the contrast down by having a white reflector sheet of som kind near the camera. You can also kill the harshness by using semitranslucent, white fabric above the model. Kind regards, Joachim
