  1. Looking good Craig. I'm interested in this build as I have one started on the shelf. I'm worried about the wing attachment. Is this kit the same as the ICM kit?
  2. This is my Beaufighter TF-X. I was based in Scotland in 489 Sqn March 1945. The kit is 1/48 Revell. I found it a hard kit to build. The Codes are home made. The final result Isn't as good as I would have liked. Also the gun got damage while I was taking the photos. It is fixed now.
  3. This is my Australian Beaufighter Mk.21 It is a 1/48 Tamiya kit.
  4. This is my RWD-8 pws . It is a Polish Trainer and Liaison plane at the pre-war and early WWII. It is a Mirage kit. Scale 1/48
  5. That looks excellent. Your masking is very clean.
  6. Another Beaufighter done. This one shows the Malta environment on the finish. I will be putting up galley images when The Nightfighter is done. I know there is a lot of talk about the colours of the Malta aircraft. I've simply built this one as per the kit instructions.
  7. Now the Malta Beuafighter is all but done I have moved the Nightfighter IF along. This is the final base colour. I've just mixed I Tamiya Rubber black with a dash of flat blue. The blue reduces the brown effect of Rubber black. I'm sure in certain light it will give the paint a hint of blue hue. Unfortunately the camera makes it look like a grey blue colour, so I have photoshopped the image so you see what I do in reality.
  8. Thanks Ray. I've just mixed my Nightfigher Beaufighter black colour. I used Tamiya Rubber black with a dash of flat blue. The blue reduces the brown effect of Rubber black. I'm sure in certain light it will give the paint a hint of blue hue. This is the last of my four Beaufighters.
  9. That's coming along nicely. I agree that painting the tail is the best way to do it. I'm kind of glad my kit hasn't turned up in time. My build would look shabby next to your effort. Once (IF) it does turn up I will be using your build as an example. I will do it in WIP.
  10. Well done. Not the easiest of kits I imagine. What's the difference between this and the Mk. IV?
  11. Very nice. This is my favorite scheme for the trainer Tiger Moth.
  12. Unfortunately it isn't flawless. On the other side there is a patch of thin paint. I'm deciding whether to leave it as weathering or patch it. Also today I finished the small decals only to notice the brown engine isn't painted correctly. The blue bottom colour is far too high. I will fix it this afternoon. This one will have a lot more weathering on it. FIXED NOW.
  13. Nice one Rich. I will be watching from the sidelines. If I was to do a relatively modern jet this is the one I would do.
  14. Here is an updated image of the Malta Beaufighter VI
  15. Yes the Cowelling is repainted and I have tidied up one of the wires that wasn't attached correctly. Photos shortly. I'm concentrating on the Malta Beaufighter at the moment.
  16. The colour I used is an Olive drab colour. Tamiya XF-62. It is more of a brown/green colour. Maybe the earlier planes where a Olive green.
  17. That's a bit late for me Rob. With two Beaufighters complete and the Malta one scheduled to finish mid this week, I only have the nightfigher to complete before the deadline. That one will be 'R' for Robert. This was Cunningham and Rawnsley's plane. It was lost when another crew took it up. I'm not sure, but I think it is one of the choices in the Revell kit.
  18. Looking good. All going well my Malta Beaufighter will get it decals tomorrow. It got clear coated this morning.
  19. Ray, Are you saying the kit doesn't have a full canopy? Hopefully my Greek version does. I won't be doing mine in this GB. The kit hasn't arrived. It is two weeks over due. I'm Hoping it is just the lockdown situation we are in here. I got my Little trainer done which was a difficult kit. I must update the images because I have a better paint finish on the cowelling now.
  20. The green looks OK in the photo, but in reality the photos are showing it a bit blue. The real colour is greener. Looks better in reality.
