  1. Thank you I’ll have look at these sites, perhaps consider a new soldering iron, I have a couple of cheap ones I use when playing with electronic kit. At 76 my hand isn’t as steady as it once was so A few botched jobs but they say practice makes perfect. I presume they ship overseas to Australia.
  2. I have endeavoured to build a Battle of Britain class locomotive from Dapol. Thorughly enjoyed the exercise despite mistakes in construction and paint job. It has however inspired me to try again with the large prairie kit from Dapol. I don't need running models , just to place in display case. it would be nice to have a larger range to choose from representing the major rail companies in the days of steam. (yes I know I am ancient). The brass is interesting but does seem too require skills I don't have. so look forward to some company to produce more variety of locomotives and Rolling stock.
  3. Thank you from a beginner, I just completed at long last A revel mosquito. I made a lot of errors but the worst has been the decals. Next model I’ll try this method.
  4. looks a well made model, Battling my way through the Dapol Battle of Britain Class and first time using an airbrush. will have to learn how to add photo

    Thank you

Thanks for the info, I didn't gloss the aircraft first just attempted to slide decals into place. Roundels were OK but invasion stripes a disaster. I'll try your tips next time. I have seen pledge in some supermarkets but mostly Mr Sheen. (live alone so home chores mean shopping)

    Thank you

G'day all Getting a bit older and nostalgic. Born in North of England and emigrated to Australia for better opportunities in Textile industry. I have built a few kit models when a teenager then again when my children were growing. I. have a currently non operational "N" gauge layout, though working to correct track issues when circumstances allow. recently discovered my grandsons unbuilt Airfix Spitfire iX. So decided to build it for him. Had fun despite being frustrated by decals, brush painting and assembling. The enjoyment led me to purchase a Revell 1/32 Mosquito which I have just commenced on. Hoping to hear some useful tips and ideas on this forum.
