A Japanese Starfighter
Bristow95 replied to tomthounaojam's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
This is a lovely build. I love Japanese jets, and I love the starfighter. The build looks great, the white wings contrasting with the red roundel and the metal tones all come together great. The best starfighter I've seen. In fact, I've got one to start soon, but not this livery, may invest in some decals. Regards -
Lovely work. Invasion stripes look lovely on almost any plane. 😍 I think it's the contrast between the two, I remember when the typhoon had them a few years back on the airshow circuit. Top marks very impressed.

A menacing looking plane coupled with a very well executed build = a success. Love this build 👍 -
I would say it's great for his first model, but I think it's just a great model, most seasoned modellers would be pretty content with this. It's very well done and look forward to the next build. 👍 Wonder how many people started with either a spitfire or hurricane, it seems almost synonymous with starting to build models.

Having recently built a red arrow myself, I think the red you've used is spot on, I used a halfords spray and both seem perfect matches. Must say, red arrows, in my opinion, began looking better since this scheme, and how it's evolved into the new tail design. I like it much more than the original tail design. Super build

Fantastic build, the photos really show the huge amount of work and attention to detail. If only a new tool 1:72 Vulcan would emerge. Very good build. 👍

I really like this build and it's backed up by a poignant story from the war. All aircrew from all sides really were very brave and inspiring, and the odds against bomber crews, amazingly brave.

Airfix 1/72 Sopwith Pup, 100 Years #1
Bristow95 replied to ProfSparks's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Watching this closely as I had this set in my previous modelling stint and, although the kits weren't the best, I really liked them. You've certainly done a good job from the airfix kit here. 👍 -
Satan's Viper (RNoAF F-16A "666")

This looks great. The finish is perfect and very realistic. F16s are very smart jets aren't they even if Satan has his ways with this one. 😈 👍 -
Return to modelling: 1/72 P-51D and B-17G
Bristow95 replied to SaminCam's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Both models look great to me but the b17 is something else. I think it's one of the best b17s I've seen. The weathering isn't over the top and is spot on and I think it's very real. Excellent work. 👍 -
Personally I think the weathering and finish is spot on, perfect for the climates it fought in. Very impressed.
-
The weathering on this is perfectly realistic and the whole build is top quality. Very nice.

Lovely, just love Vietnam era us aircraft. 👍 -
Hi all, what a challenging build, I initially started building the red arrow with the new revell kit. It went badly so I then started on the airfix red arrow, the older boxing with the black hawk on the front, which is this kit shown here. The decals are from the new red arrow by airfix. So that's 3 kits to build this one. 😤😬 I used halfords fiat red orange for this and I think it is spot on. The smoke pipes are from the revell kit. Comments welcome.

This looks great and it's nice to see a b25 in a different livery. The photos are great and the finish is very smooth. I must admit I never new Russia used these. They certainly look smart with the Russian stars on them. Top marks

Airfix 1\72 Seaking HAR.3 (new mould)
Bristow95 replied to airfixpeter's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Lovely work, I'm making this starting tommorow, not the same one mind, and it's nice to see one built so well before starting mine. I suppose people felt sad when the Wessex and whirlwinds retired from sar duties, just like with the seaking. Weirdly the very last time I saw the boulmer seaking xz590 was when it flew over at tree-top height before circling very low when I was waiting for a bus. It was almost like a set up how perfect it was. I loved how more often than not the exhaust stains would be really evident over the side of the fuselage as if they weren't cleaned often. They looked superb but the new Sikorsky and Agustas are super too. The S92s are deafining and you can hear them much further away than the Seaking. Regards -
Thanks, I find revell aqua to be lovely to brush with, as long as it's thinned. I use tamiya thinner and I find the paint really covers well with few brush marks. The only issue can be debris on the paint job but I can live with that. Regards
