I've read Rod Roddenberry (or at least someone associated with it like that) got the listing closed by Ebay, due to the ship originally having been stolen from Gene. So it seems it'll be going back to the estate where it belongs.

It's from the Anime / Card Game Yu-Gi-Oh, Blue Eye White Dragon is one of the most iconic cards from when it started in the 90s. Didn't even know that was a thing, sort of tempted to get one myself but it seems to me that it looks quite different from what I remember the Anime/Classic Card looking like.

That definitely looks far better than the concept design. It still seems like a bit of an odd thing to have a kit for to me though.

That thread seems to be talking about things in the context of those advertising for profit though, I totally get not wanting people to take advantage and just post something for commercial reasons or outright advertising in order to make money by trying to get subscribers or site views, but if even when someone isn't doing what's talked about there and isn't posting for monetary gain gets stopped too then I just don't understand that at all. Sorry if i've got something wrong and this person was actually advertising for commercial reasons in this case, although I've not really got that impression from what I've read here.

If it was something outright advertising a channel to try and get money from it I could understand the problem, but I don't get why linking to a video on a non-commercial youtube channel for the purpose of showing a finished build wouldn't be allowed? Even just doing a quick search shows several people have done that before and their posts didn't get removed, am i missing something?

It says it's a Bandai kit, but i can't find anything about either a Bandai or Revell kit, the only place that has anything is that site and another shop. Seems a little odd for them to announce a kit by showing off a quick rough concept sketch? Not only that, but a Revell repackage of a Bandai kit being announced before the Bandai kit itself? As well as it being a 1:9 scale kit when all the other Bandai Star Wars figures have been 1:12? And it requires glue and paint even though pretty much every other Bandai kit don't need those? Lots of very strange stuff there.

Revell's kit looks decent enough, but at the same time it seems a little lacking in terms of numbers of parts and such for the price.

At the start of last year Airfix announced that one of their upcoming kits was a new 1/72 scale Scammel. Since then I've seen nothing more about it and it hasn't been mentioned again since. What happened to that new kit? Was it just delayed or is it not happening?

The Bandai Star Wars kits are snap together kits that come in coloured plastic. They're relatively large at 1/72 scale and are about £20 - 30 here depending on which ship. There's also some of Revell's Star Wars box scale kits. These are available either pre-painted easykits, or as more typical kits that need gluing and painting. They have a fairly small number of parts (like, under 30 parts) but there's no consistent scale between them as they're just box scale. They're far cheaper than the Bandai kits are around £6 or so each, although they're also available in gift/starter set format and come with glue, a crush and paints. If he's just starting out i'd recommend one of the Revell kits first before Bandai, as while Bandai kits are great, it is a bit more substantial due to the number of parts.

Wouldn't it be missing some detail if it was intended to be printed at a much smaller scale originally?

I quite like the box scale stuff myself, especially as the Bandai smaller scale kits aren't available here at all. At this point though it's just nice to see a new Revell Star Wars kit that's intendended for modellers, all theirs stuff for the past few movies and even other brands like the Halo series were those "build and play" kits rather than the proper thing. I'm sure those were nice enough for what they were, but it would have been nice to have something that wasn't effectively a toy.

Revell's version looks great! A shame they haven't put that much effort in with other Star Wars ships.

Only just seen this thread, but I'm very glad this is the case! I've been to the Bruntingthorpe Cold War Jets day only 3 times (only found out about it about 2 years ago) and very very much enjoyed it, so it's just absurd that this has happened at all. It's baffling to me how a beloved one-of-a-kind part of preserving our aviation history, that has had a huge amount of work put into it by many people, could be considered of lesser worth than the ability to store and sell more cars. It's not as if any of it can be easily replaced, so I find this whole situation just disgusting from what I've read of it, really. I was worried that they'd all have to be scrapped so it's wonderful that that's not the case, but it's just so disheartening that it's got to this in the first place.

The original miniatures looked quite interesting on their own, but the extra stuff you've added to them works really well! Considering one of them very much like a Dreadnought rather than being their own desgin, I wonder if any of the others are based off something too?

What do you mean by this? Things will become more expensive to import from there?

Apparently it's around 25cm tall when completed. Are those 2 extra figures in scale with the rest of it? Can't quite remember how big a person should be in comparison to an EVA!

I think so, I just found it on a site and it worked. EF10 was the code that worked for me.

Quick update on this: Solved it. Was in a charity shop today and saw an aviation artbook "Brace by wire to fly-by-wire: 80 years of the Royal Air Force 1918-1988" and bought it without really looking at it much (normally just get them when they're cheap). Realized after that several of the pages in there are the exact same as a few of the 'prints' I have here, text on the same back page and all. That book doesn't have all of them, but it seems there are a few other artbooks in the same sort of collection, these are definitely just pages taken out of that artbook or one of the other Peter March artbooks and sold individually.

Where did you find them for that price?

I hoped they'd have released some of the other kits here by now, but it's been quite a while and there's still been nothing at all about the smaller vehicle boxes (other than the Death Star + Star Destroyer box) or things like the 1/72 Y-Wing and A-Wing.

Overall it's pretty great, especially the lighting, just a bit of a shame there isn't a bit more going on around them, like maybe some asteroids to make it not seem so empty.

This is always the first one I think of on the topic of short sci-fi stuff : They're pretty unique and interesting sci-fi plane designs, too.
