  1. Yes, GWH design is under good progress. There will be A, A+ and C variants. I have seen the CAD and they are quite promising with new level of surface detail and accuracy.
  2. Almost forget to special thanks to "Frozen" team for helping the built! 😉
  3. ALWAYS glue the wheels at last! ALWAYS! I cannot bear the wheels not touching ground flatly, can you?? The final "dirty job", is to deal with the gaps between vertical fins and fuselage. Nothing serious, if you use the correct method. I have seen many fantastic Flanker builds, but very very few of them noticed the unique angle of the pitot tube on the nose! Here I share with you some trick, to install that small but very noticable part correctly(I mean the angle). That's all for now. Thanks for watching and stay tuned!
  4. So the final assembling begins. The very last part of wiring work still remains, since it has to be added only after gear bay is glued in place. And the "how to" about Detail & Wonder Studio 3D print gears installation. Patience, patience and patience!
  5. I still want to add more texture on non-metal area, so I also used another method: dry brush with enamel gloss coating paint. A big relief when I found no paint leaking on clear parts after removing the masking tape. So here are all the parts, waiting for final assembling!
  6. Then I move to anti-heat covers on AL-30F engines. This time I used a new method considered by me: the hybrid one combined with painting and sanding. Here is how I did it.
  7. And the weathering started. Once the weathering goal was secured by a semi-gloss clear coating, I turn to the bare metal area painting. First is the small areas on fuselage, where Galaxy Model pre-cut masking tape comes for rescue. A must buy item for the built!
  8. Thanks for following guys! We are facing lock down in Shanghai recently, due to re-breakout of COVID-19. I have been staying at home for more than 2 weeks, but there is never boring life for modeller like this! So I made lots of progress over the past 2 weeks. Here we go! Some addtional work on small parts:
  9. Hi Duncan I used both ways: pre-shading and post-shading. It's quite fun doing this, but very tiring since the plane is just too big... The kit decal I think is a bit thinner than the one in Su-35 kit, based on my building experience. They could be a bit thinner maybe, but that will increase then handling difficulty for some beginners. I did not spray gloss before applying decals, since the base color for camo I used are all mixed by gloss paints. I always do it that way, to save my time and effort. Thanks sir! This is indeed very encouraging!
  10. And some shots for fun, just to show you how big a Flanker is. 😉 That's all for now so far. Stay tuned!
  11. Then the vertical fins, stabilizers and gear bay covers, etc.
  12. So sorry for being silent for a while. I was busy with my daily work, and also painting this beast(it's huge)! So finally I finished the basic painting and washing job. Next will be another fun part: weathering!! Here again, I share with you my recipe. First, the body.
  13. Thanks Duncan! I only drilled some rivets by 0.2mm drills, on some round/unflat surface where rivets are not round enough. I believe this is the limitation of mold injection direction(vertical), so it appears on all kits which you need to handle a little. Rivets on flat surface are totally fine, deeper than those on Su-35 kits actually. Regarding the D&W landing gears, they are now available on Hobbyeasy site(Hong Kong) and the48ers site, where I think is easier to purchase than buying from China directly. Hope it helps! Yufei
  14. Congratulations on the final outcome! Simply outstanding! Love the difference surface texture especially the bare metal/nozzle area, really inspiring! Look forward to more Flanker builts from you. Yufei
  15. We are in the 3rd day of our Chinese luna new year holidays but I'm processing slowly, since I have a lot of family service to do, for my wife, daughter and all the relationships who keep on visiting our home. Well, at least, the prime is done. I cannot believe if anyone who dislike prime!? Especially the #1500 surfacer——It's so silk-like smoothy and honest: always tell you all the great details on the surface, as well as the flaws you made. Now we are talking: the real fun, painting, begins! Stay tuned!
  16. Now the Flanker is sitting by herself! The D&W 3D print landing gears, thanks to the super strong engineering material and stainless rods inside, are more than strong to take all the weight from this beast! Thanks to the great engineering of the mold cutting, the kit gear bay cover parts can be used to "mask" the gear bays. To be continued…… Stay tuned!
  17. Gear bays and intake/engine related parts were glued. D&W landing gears dry fit——BTW, they fit like gloves! This is how it looks like.
  18. The incredible Detail & Wonder Studio 3D print landing gears!
  19. Thank you all for your kind words, mates! I temporally swtich back to aircraft building now, but promise will build more 1/700 ship models this year! Have a nice day! Yufei
  20. Hi guys Sorry for the silence for a while. A bit busy with my daily job at the year beginning, but still try to find some spare time (1-2 hours before sleeping every night) to catch up. Next week we will have 1 week national holidays as of Lunar New Year, hopefully I can try to finish it by then! So the built went on. Engine intake and trunk.
  21. I have to agree with you. The real background is that they do not have enough 2D designers so they have to outsource the instruction sheet design to 3rd party, which limited the final outcome. Nope, I brush paint the windshield inner side, by clear yellow+clear brown. Then before it dries, I used tissue to absorb the liquid, as much as it can. So that the brush painted inner side surface will be very smooth. The reason I used lacquar paint is that it will not have chemical effect with Pledge, which may have with acryl or enamel paint. Have a try!
