  1. Rare serious Vulcan built! Great skill and patience..... Keep up the good work Yufei
  2. Start the "washing" procedure,or shall I call it "filling panel lines". Use Dark Grey colour mixed by Tamiya enamel paint black and white. My motif is avoidng use pure colour as most as possible because the strong contract will only make models more toy-like. Clean up. The colour washed the flaps are deeper,in order to give an accent to tell watchers that "this area is movable". Next will be coating, polishing and spraying metal colour at last. To be continued......
  3. Thanks a lot for the comments, folks! I got an early leave from company today,so I have a little time for modeling. White point on the nosecone was painted. I cut the masking tape along the rounded rescribe ruler. And just spray. Next step is gloss coating and sanding/polising. Why?See the pic...... To be continued......
  4. Here comes today's updates. I was suggested that the water drop shaped windows should be bigger by Chris. So correction made. Thanks a lot,Chris!! Spray matt black on tires firstly, then use the round shaped rescribing ruler to spray the wheel disk colour. (Mr.Color C332 British light grey) Begin to painting the plane. Two Six Decals provides me the stripes on fuselage, but after testingit does not fit, again. And once again,no matter it fits or not,I will not use it directly. I chose to spray the blue colour firstly. The ratio is C65 Indy Blue:C14 Navy Blue=7:3(All in Mr.Color) Then masking them. The 0.7mm sliced masking tape really did me a great favour! Then the anti-glare black area on nose, also masking. The wheel bay is the same colour as the landing gears. Masked with tissue piece. Spray work finished The white on fuselage is GX01 Cool White, while the grey is mixed by C332:C308:GX01=4:4:2. All the paints used are in gloss so that decal appyling will be much easier.Highly Recommended! Decals applied. Two Six Decals effected PERFECTLY with Gunze mask softer(green cover). About No.256 Trident, just Google "Trident+September 13,1971",you'll get your answer. Just notice that I forgot the white area on the top of nosecone. Will do it next time. To be continued......
  5. Thanks a lot for the nice commets, folks. Especially thank you so much,Chris!Without your references,I will cost more time on planning the modification. So today, landing gears and covers are finished. The original plastic parts are toys and I have to scratch-build them. This is the front landing gear cover. The main landing gear covers. The main landing gears,scratch-built with plastic rods and junk PE parts. Both finished. Nose landing gear.M.V. Production clear lense is applied.Just wonderful! All parts are here. Readay for painting tomorrow. To be continued......
  6. Wing blazes are added. As some part of the blaze is located on the front flaps,I made them seperately. Some other details. Spray black inside of intake and cooler intake, then masking them. After spraying Mr.Surfacer,I found the windshield area still need some careful sanding work. All main parts surfaced and checked for sanding result. Scratch built wing root fairings. After some careful sanding work, the nose looks OK now. To be continued......
  7. Thanks a lot Tony! More to come: I continued the work on wing root fairings. The one I made last night was too small so I used plastic card for the measure plate to increase the fairing area. Some on the right ones. AB putty and black super glue was filled and waiting for sanding after drying. Thanks Keef! The black superglue was made by a Japanese maker called WAVE. It's a littile expensive but IMHO it worth the price. All the main parts are finished sanding. Pay attention to the fairing on wing roots. The shape of vertical fin need correct. Windshield part fit BADLY with fuselage. I polished it after sanding, and wash the whole part in water. That's why there's water drop inside of the clear part. Masking for windshield windows. There are decals for windows included in Two Six Decals. But it just does not fit...... No matter it fits or not,I would not use it directly. So this is how I use the decal. They are the "ruler" for cutting masking tape. And masking tapes just fit nice, after some adjustment of size and postion. Then spray gloss black for interior black colour and masking the two littile windows above.
  8. Sanding for wings, horizontial fins and engine pods was finished. You can find the WAVE black super glue after sanding. I used Tamiya AB putty to creat the fairing on wing roots. Yes,I know the fairing shoud be much longer, but I just select to neglact that because of the time demanded for sanding work. I just want to enjoy painting it ASAP! :woot.gif: It's very interesting that wing roots on starboard and port side have different shapes.
  9. Hi,folk! I'm new here from China.(Maybe some of you go to ARC forum?) Here I'd like to share you my first thread here, and also my first airliner model with you——the Trident. The Airfix Trident is quite buildable for the accurate out line shape and good fitting. Trident is quite famous in China, mainly due to the defection of vice chairman LIN Biao in 1971. When my father took his first flight to Guangzhou, the airliner was Trident of CAAC. I used the old Airfix kit dated 1966(!) and Two Six Decals for the built. As the panel lines of the kit are all need rescribed,in order to protect the windows I decieded to rescribing before glue the fuselage. The windows are applied masking liquid for the easy after-work purpose. Fishing lead spot is used for weights on nose. The front gear bay has to be scratch built. Rescribing on fuselage done. Shrinkage pionts are filled with black super glue and sanded. Spray matt black in side, then apply the windows. WAVE black super glue is used for putty purpose as it dries much faster and much easier to sand. The out line of vertical fin needs correct. The flaps on 1E is different than those on 1C. Dry fit.Fitting is really nice!Especially for a 1966 dated kit.
