  1. Metal pitot tube by Russian handmade brand PVD. I bought mine loooong ago from Linden Hill. I planted a brass rod inside the cockpit wakk so that canopy could be open/closed freely to show cockpit details. Pay attention to another 1983 standard MiG-25PD features here: the anti rador warning antenna. Also pay attention to the fairing on the canopy, it's the opening constructure hinge. Fitting of intake parts also no good. A lot of sanding and rescribing work need here, too. Those white plastic sheet pieces are intake fins I added. Here also some putty work. Vertical fins with nice details. Discharge wires also added. Size comparation. With new Hasegawa Su-33. You can see Foxbat is even bigger(lookings) than Flanker! It's a ture MONSTER! And with her successor! Landing gears and covers all detailed. Wiring by 0.2 mm and 0.1 mm brass wires. So fianlly, I will start painting next! Thanks for watching! Cheers, Yufei
  2. Thanks, Serge! So do you know boss of Prop&Jet? I forgot to update this thread and sorry for that! Intakes finished first. The upper lip should not be straight but I decided to neglect that because it would not be very obvious after finishing. Some junk PE net was used, too. I also chose to neglect the intake pipe connected to the turbo fins, which made me a bit regretful after finising. Intake inside all painted in metal colour. Walls in Mr. Color Super Metalic series Super Titanium, while upper lips in Super Titanium:Light ghost grey=6:4. Just as Raymond indicated that Iraqi Foxbats have been updated to 1983 standard, so the KDS-155 flare despensers should be added to the wings. First I used masking tape and draw the rough shape of KDS-155 on it, then adhere it on 0.3mm plastic sheet. Cut four pieces, glue them on the wing fences on the original parts just like sandwitch. Then sanding and rescribing work.Got them gone! Next step is assembling the big parts. The fitting of this ICM kit is not so great to be honest, but only some little patience and skill could save you much time sanding. First, glue the front fuselage part. After glue drying, glue the inside part of intake parts. Then add the outside part of intakes, sanding. Finally wings and stabilizers. The IRST censor under nose would be better in clear parts. I sprayed silver first, then clear orange smoke. And masking the window areas. The underside of front fuselage and intakes fitting is not so fantastic. Some putty/sanding/rescribing work need here. Also here: The inner pylon pins should be more forwardneath. And some shrinky areas on the wings. Do you have them on your kits too? Discharge wires by tooth brush nylons and super glue on the tip.

I'd like to go out for a walk with my doggy Sasha. :woot.gif: Thanks for watching! Cheers, Yufei

  5. Forgot to post here, my apologize!! My new progress here to share with you, the ICM 1/72 MiG-25PD. It would be in the IrAF scheme, pilot Zuhair Dawood who was said to shoot down a US NAVY F/A-18C Hornet piloted by LCDR Michael Scott Speicher on Desert Storm operation, 17 January 1991. Well, I don't know the exact number of Dawood's Foxbat, so any references would be greatly thankful! Here is the accessories I used for this built. Prop&Jet KM-1M ejection seat Prop&Jet MiG-25 nozzles PVD MiG-25 metal pitot tube Pavla Models MiG-25 cockpit ARMORY R-40RD missiles ARMORY R-40TD missiles ED Model MiG-25 PE set Hi-Decal MiG-25 decal Begemot MiG-25 scheme decal Begemot MiG-25 stencil decal First step, canopy things. Foxbats have anti-sunshine coated canopies, so a mix of clear orange and clear smoke would be sprayed from inside of windshield/canopy firstly. Then masking the clear area from inside, and spray the sealing strip colour from inside(pinkish tan). Then detailing the canopy inside. Add the railing cloth, the anti-heat canvas, etc. Resin cockpit in after some minor sanding works. In order to increase the strength, 0.5mm brass rod was planted inside the pylons to meet the resin R-40 missiles. Those missiles are huge!!(easy to imagine one shot down a Hornet.) All resin staff ready to be surfaced. The Soviet bluisu-green(or greenish blue, whatever) cockpit colour of 60-70's is very unique. I tried to mix 3 colours to get the result. Cockpit finished. I used an MV Products lens for the rador scope screen. Really effective! Canopy was also painted from side. KM-1M resin seat by Prop&Jet. The best KM-1M seat in 1/72 scale I have to say. Crisp details and accurate shape. Then front fuselage parts were finally glued waiting for sanding. New progress this weekend! Intakes finished first. 6. Thank you so much for the info! As I found Tom Cooper indicated the number of this Foxbat is 25211, the biggest problem has been solved! Really great reference indeed! I'll make full use of that during my built! Cheers, Yufei
  7. Thanks a lot for all the feedbacks, guys! Thanks for the info, Jabba. I have searched for that issue for a long time but it seems to be OOP for a long time. I also noticed that the same author, Tom Cooper, has written another book, IRAQI FIGHTERS - 1953-2003: Camouflage & Markings, and I guess there maybe some info? Any one bought that book? Cheers, Yufei

  9. Thank you for your feedbacks!! Now the pictures are all fixed! Cheers, Yufei
  10. Thank you for all of your comments, guys! That's my great honor indeed! And actually what Marek said is all correct. I also noticed those points during building myself, but as a matter of fact, those red covers are all moveable from the plane so that I can display the plane just as a single work to be shown. And I really cannot choose to glue the red covers on those nicely detailed missiles or neglect the resin opened air brakes, just in order to match the real. Or in other words, it's not a total diorama but just one plane tended to be shown in a diorama style, just think this way please. So maybe next time, the actor of this diorama could be turn to be a MiG-25 or Su-25. I just make the base useful for all Russian planes, for better photo effect, too. Thank you for you all and later I would upload some single plane shots, too! Cheers, Yufei
  11. So here is the finished thread, folks! MiG-29 9-13 Fulcrum from 28th GvIAP RusAF, Diorama with ICM and ARMORY kits Hope you guys enjoy!! Cheers, Yufei
  12. Last shot!! Thanks for watching and any of your advice or critiques are really welcome!! Cheers, Yufei P.S:some single photos of the Fulcrum would be uploaded later.
  13. Some detail shots here: Figures. APA-5D starter from ARMORY! Scratch built electric pole.
  14. So finally here it is after finishing for over half a year. This diorama has been published on Air Modeller Vol. 32 and Vol. 33, so I would be more than honorable if you could buy the magazines. And for those who's interested in the in-progress thread, here it is online: MiG-29 9-13 "Fulcrum", 1/72 ICM First comes with the over all diorama looks. MiG-29 9-13 from 1/72 ICM kit with lots of correction/detailing work while APA-5D airfield starter from ARMORY conversion kit based on ICM Ural-4352 kit. Electric pole and other things scratch built including figures, and yes, that 1/72 Russian pilot has been resin casted and would be on sale very soon. :woot.gif: Here'e go~!
  15. Hi, guys! I’m planning to make a 1/35 HQ-2 tractor but cannot make the decision to choose the resin wheels. I know there’s Hussar ones which I can find excellent review pictures online, but I wonder the quality of another Czech brand Real Model compared with Hussar ones? I searched around the Internet but cannot find an actual picture of Real Model ones, anyone has it? Or any comments please? I do know that Real Model ones does not have the spare wheels but that’s not a disadvantage for me because I can make resin copies myself. Thanks in advance! Cheers, Yufei
  16. Thank you! I used black super glue at first but found it too weak to hold, so I chose welding, which proved to be the best way to go though a bit difficult to control. HTH, Yufei
  17. Thank you so much for your encouragement, guys! Now this Farmer has been published on the current issue of Air Modeller magazine, and I hope you could enjoy it from paper base, too. Also, the resin copies of the PLA pilot figure have been successfully finished and I'm now preparing for the instruction sheet and packages. Hope you could like it! Thanks for watching and your attention! Cheers, Yufei
  18. OK! 1.#1200 Surfacer sprayed 2.Sand the surfacer with #2000 sanding paper or finer. 3.Wash the surface thoroughly 4.Spray gloss black for metal primer 5.Spray Silver(GSI Creos Super Metalic #06 Chrome silver:Mr.Color #8 silver=4:1) 6.Gloss coating and let dried thoroughly for over 24 hours 7.Decal applied and let dried thoroughly for over 24 hours 8.Semi-gloss coating and let dried thoroughly for over 24 hours 9.Sand the surface if the decal trim is too thick, using #3600 or finer paper (Caution:it’s risky that the paint maybe sanded) 10.Wash(I used Tamiya enamel colour flat black:flat white:flat brown=4:4:2 this time) 11.Dull coating, very thin and never over done. Finished Well, that’s my process any way and hope to be inspiral. As for a Japanese T-1,I’ve not seen the real plane so it’s hard for me to tell. But I personally guess it should be closer to US ones with no-painted surface? And thank you for the advice for the figure.Well,in past China and USSR,there were many propaganda pictures taken so the pilots were some how deliberately posed. (I guess you can read that from his expression on face) Cheers, Yufei
  19. Thanks for the feedback! Well,it does make the metal surface a little dull, but that’s just what I want to get. The “metal” effect was actually all painted on Soviet birds, but not like the US birds’ NMF indeed. Thanks,Jim! I will resin cast the figure and sell it very soon. I’m now making my home page and my own brand would be sold on it. Will keep you updated later! (Decal could also be sent together,I can manage to get one for you from my friend). Cheers, Yufei
  20. Some more. The front tire of Trumpy original part is again, wrong. Wrong wheel disk, too thing rubber tire. Scratch-build one myself. Intake cover selfmade. I also made a 1/48 PLAAF/PLANAF 60-70's pilot. Maybe it will be resin cast for sale in the future. Thanks for watching! Yufei
  21. OK,I recieved the magazine today and here are the scanned pages and my translation any way: Reagrding copyrights,I only give you the links as below: http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz357/h...Vol%2076/P6.jpg http://i843.photobucket.com/albums/zz357/h...76/P26--P27.jpg The breaking news came just before the our magazine was going to finish the editting work. The scale is 1/72 and it's totally new tooled with design work from zero. Mr.Masato HASEGAWA(CEO of Hasegawa hobby) said that on their internal discussing meeting, when old guys talked about A5M or B5N,the young staff have no ideas for those old props because they are too long time ago before they were born.Plus,it's been years since Hasegawa's last full new tooled 1/72 kit,F/A-18 Super Hornet. Feeling the acticity of centry series lively, experiencing the retirement of F-14,some one cannot understand who this time Hasegawa chose Su-33,Mr.Hasegawa answered as below: Recent years, among those young people who have the same age as the modern jets or even below, thoughts of "Russian aircrafts are just way cool!" have become a boom. And nowadays, even India and China is also using Flankers, information is very easier to get. What's more, appearance in Anime and Game made Russian birds even more famous than US birds nowadays, and the unique styling is just amazing. Some SF aircrafts such as YF-19 from Macross even inspired by Su-27.Actually ,the designer of Macross series,Mr.Masaharu KAWAMORI is a great fan of Russian aircrafts. And don't forget the most important point:Su-33 is a carrier figheter! Not only the wings, but also the stablizers can be folded, even with missiles on them! The plane is somehow more like to appear in Anime. And the name of the aircraft carrier,Admiral Kutsunezov is just so exotic to Japanese! All in all, this kit was chosen due to the concept of Hasegawa nowadays:Give more attractive items to young modelers. When asked about the other Su-27 family kits updated possiblity,Mr. Hasegawa said unfortunately there's almost no possibilities because the common usable parts are few from Su-33 to other variants(Su-33KUB is another dream of maniac modelers by the way, chances are left for aftermarket makers). Is there any 1/48 Flanker kits plan? Not yet now.It all depends on the feedback from market of this Su-33. Due to 1/72 scale,wings/stabilizers cannot be folded in the original plastic parts, instead of that,Hasegawa want to focus on the correct propotion and good details. In the past Japan, there were thoughts that Russian birds have no markets. But the time has passed. Though Mr.Hasegawa also admit this choice is a little "risk adventure",but it shows Hasegawa's new business mode in some aspects.
  22. Got the news when I visted Japan last time in September, and it's opened on the latest issue of Japanese aircraft modelling magazine Scale Aviation. I have not got my copy from Tokyo yet so cannot tell more details. But according to the content of the magazine's homepage,it's a totally new mold, not updated based on the old Su-27 mold(See page 26:ハセガワ約20年ぶりの旧ソ連機完全新金 1/72スケールSu−33フランカーDを発表!!). MODELKASTEN - 雑誌・別冊 - 隔月刊スケールアヴィエーション2010年11月号 Will keep you guys updated after getting the magazine. Cheers, Yufei
  23. Thanks so much for your nice feedback, guys! Yep!I post some here and you can also find my early works by searching my name "Yufei Mao" via Internet. Some props, not very nicely done in today's standard though... Just check it out and that's incredible! I love your photo so much for the real atmosphere. Why not post more pics? Cheers, Yufei
  24. You can find some in-progress threads on the famous Czech modelling forum here: Mig-17F "2077" North Vietnam AF 1/72 AZ To me,except the wrong shaped wingshield front glass, everything looks quite fine. Just my 2 cents, Yufei
  25. Thanks a lot for your support! Wow,you even know Taobao!Great! Have you used to live in China mainland? I talked with the author of frontpenny studio last night and he's very interested to have some internationla customers. He will add some English translations on his decal instruction sheet at first and then start the Paypal service. Just FYI. Cheers, Yufei
