  1. Nice work so far. I've just left a message on the wanted thread before I read the last post. Please just ignore it. Hope you manage to get things sorted. Cheers, Alistair
  2. You are a machine Roger, How you manage to produce such high quality stuff in minimal time absolutely amazes me. This one is no exception. Cheers, Alistair
  3. What a save, The mask work for the markings is wonderful and the whole thing looks phenomenal. Awestruck of Polmont.
  4. Thanks Colin, What can I say, you can take the boy out of Aberdeen......... They're supplied and I'm going to use them, after all, I've paid for them Cheers, Alistair
  5. Thanks Roger, As stuff ups go it wasn't to difficult to sort out. I got lucky, again. Thanks very much, I'd enjoy seeing what you do with it. Thanks Mark, On the plus side there are a whole lot less than on the Phantom. And I'll keep telling myself that until the last one goes on. Thanks so much, I would go for it. You can't have too many FAA Hunters about the place. Cheers, Alistair
  6. White sprayed over the sanded bits and the masking removed. Then I got on with the underside stencilling. Well, it's got to be done sometime. Still got a few to go though. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
  7. Thanks John, I'll use that as I'm on my last bottle and am not prepared to pay what Mig Ammo want for it. HR Hobbies have licensed all their alclad stuff to them. Cheers, Alistair
  8. Thanks John, most kind. I wholeheartedly agree about the Xtreme Metals. The only Alclad I've ever got on with was High Speed Silver and that's more of a paint than a metallic. Cheers, Alistair
  9. Yup, but I manage to do it with monotonous regularity. Thanks Chris, Filler sanded and all masked up ready for some off-white. More later. Cheers, Alistair
  10. Thanks Mark, The vice was a cheapie from Aldi and is extremely useful for holding things that would get marked on the paint stand. The Xtreme metals are enamels and are nowhere near as whiffy as alclad but the still smell a bit. I do all my spraying in the garage but using them in a house might be too much for significant others. Thanks Roger, The paint is almost foolproof once you find a method that works for you. Thanks very much Simon, It's looking ok this morning. Cheers, Alistair
  11. I'll get things right one of these days. I mean, it's not as if more than one person contributed photos which showed the complete absence of the flaming things. Cheers, Alistair
  12. Bits nipped off, sanded back and some filler applied to be dealt with tomorrow. Yes, I'm an idiot. Cheers, Alistair
  13. Thanks Chris, There's still a fair bit to be done but I feel like I've moved a long way forward today. Cheers, Alistair
  14. Thanks Chris, I've just found out that I shouldn't have fitted the gun ejection tubes. That'll teach me to follow the instructions instead of checking photos. I'll need to nip the off, sand back and respray over the white. Cheers, Alistair
  15. Thanks Andre, It's come out better than I expected as there is very little in the way of touch ups needed. Cheers, Alistair
  16. I took a little time and carefully peeled the masking off. I'll give that a couple of days to cure and harden and the fix the masking fails on the wings, the red overspray on the top stabiliser and the red that needs touched up on the tail. Then it'll be time for some more masking for Dark Aluminium on the tail pipe, some radome tan and the black around the intakes. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
  17. Thanks very much, The Xtreme Metals are fantastic paints and very forgiving. Cheers, Alistair
  18. Thanks Simon, You certainly have a lot more confidence the me in the outcome. Cheers, Alistair
  19. This has now happened much to the relief of all concerned. Two light coats of Xtreme Metals Polished Aluminium applied. Once that has cooked off I'll get the unmasking done and see what we've got. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
  20. A little later than I had hoped as I went out yesterday to put a clear coat on and found that there was a leak in the compressor tank, a pin hole which was only going to get worse. Thanks to being a Prime member a new one arrived this morning and we have some stickers. Those will be allowed to settle and softened if necessary and then I'll get on with the stencilling. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
  21. Definitely a milestone Chris. Nice to see this back on the go and looking good. Cheers, Alistair
  22. Excellent stuff Roger, Sorry to hear your suffering from coughing again. Nicely saved though. Cheers, Alistair
