  1. Thanks Mark, Your previous builds have been of immense value to me in avoiding certain pitfalls. The spreader bar in the nose and the very precise placement of the internals spring immediately to mind. So, thanks very much for those. I'm certain I'll find my own pitfalls and they will more than likely be operator error but it's all part of the fun. Thanks Craig, I can't take any credit for that though as I've had Mark.au's previous builds to rely on for the bits to avoid. Nice. We didn't ever get anything of that sort in Dingwall. Had a massive playing field at the front too. You could almost have parked a Battleship on it. Thanks Adrian, Most kind of you. Cheers, Alistair
  2. As always a lovely paint job with the subtlest of variations. Looks braw to me. Cheers, Alistair
  3. Thanks Mark, I'll get a bit of an oily wash on the engine today and see what else I can get up to. Thanks Mark, I thought I'd overdone the wash on the floor but it looks better in the shadows of the cockpit. Thanks Roger, Currently having a wee sanding session on the arrestor hook insert. It'll get there. Cheers, Alistair
  4. This being an ICM kit there were 20 separate parts to the engine. The parts were painted. First Semi-Gloss Black Then Gun Metal And some Aluminium And a short while later, There may have been a lot of fiddly parts that were difficult to clean up but it was all worth it. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
  5. Thanks very much, Based on your location I had better do a decent job on this one. Cheers, Alistair
  6. As I thought more work is required. Other than that I've puttied up the seams on the main fuselage and shall get to it when it's dry. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
  7. Front and rear parts of the canopy were masked up and painted along with my pathetic attempt at the armour plate. A pseudo- strengthening bar was built from card and fitted. And finally with everything glued in place. I placed the arrestor hook piece and this will need a little work with some PPP. I also got her on her feet. Thought it was about time. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
  8. Superb work Colin, There certainly seems to be a lot needed for this build. Cheers, Alistair
  9. Thanks Chris, I'm working on the seams and the armour plate at the moment. There should be more pics later. Cheers, Alistair
  10. The fuselage was buttoned up. Some work done on the nose. I have no doubt that more will be required but I thought it would be a good time for a bit of a dry fit. I had to put a spreader in but it's not turned out too bad. And I was very surprised at the next bit. That is rather better than I was expecting. While I was waiting for glue and such to dry I got on with the IP The PE part required a little grinding on both shoulders to get an adequate fit but here it is as the glue dries. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
  11. Thanks Simon, Of course being Scottish I will be supporting two teams. Scotland and whoever is playing England. Cheers, Alistair
  12. I made a start on the nose, as I know this will require some work. While I was about it some clear pieces were placed and/or masked. The overhead panel got some paint. And then placed. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
  13. Tape off, A little work needed, as expected, as ICM plastic and I don't get on too well. Not bad though. I'm off to watch the Scotland game so will get some filler on later and see what else i can get on with. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
  14. Thanks Chris. It's all new stuff for me so I m just having a go to see what happens. Cheers, Alistair
  15. Thanks David. The IP's are the Yahu replacements. Thanks Roger, I'll keep trying to get close to your build. Thanks Chris, It has to be 5519 for me. Thanks Simon, The tape is off and it doesn't look too bad. A little work needs done but that's probably down to me and ICM plastic which I have difficulties with. Cheers, Alistair
  16. So, I perused the destructions to get the internals together and they were so imprecise that I had to go and have a look at some other build threads to get the placement right. I think I've got it and glue has been thrown about. And then to make sure. I think that looks right. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
