The Mighty Concorde (a French one though)
helium replied to TheFlyingDutchman's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Hello Jelle, building this kit currently as well (a French British one though of course π), I have to comment that you did a wonderful work reshaping the cockpit windows, especially the inner ones! The overall result is also great. Congratulations! Best Regards, Holger -
Exzellent Work Phil π The Voodoo looks great! I am looking forward seeing more of your Vietnam collection ! Seeing different Planes side by side gives a good impression of their size ... (I like your Crusader tooπ)

Hello br60066, looks great! π Good job! I have started (meanwhile nearly finished) the new Academy F-15E. You should not be worried about fit problems there. I had to use filler at only one location (and that only because I did not wanted to glue the cockpit section to the main fuselage under tension). A fellow modeller here at Britmodeller wrote he had to use no filler at all. So I would give it a go! (While I have the new Acadamy F/A-18F on stash, I have not built it yet. So I cannot compare them regarding fit issues). Since you ask: having done a similar βcleanβ jet I would nowadays give it a wash with a very much diluted color. Trying that it does not look worn at all but that the details are more visible. cheers Holger

Hello John, Well done! And very interesting topic! Cheers Holger -
Hello Tom, congratulations! That looks stunning! From the first picture it looks as if the windows/grills in the long door of the front gear are transparent - as in the real one ... Did you cut them out? Cheers, Holger

The other Tim's Revell 1/48 F15E Strike Eagle - 48 FW, RAF Lakenheath
helium replied to Tim Moff's topic in F-15 Eagle STGB
Very well done Tim! As mentioned before: it is astonishing how you made the E-model to look so lively/vivid (not sure about the word) even though it is only Gunship Grey over all! (btw: I also think the white background works best) -
Hi all, unfortunaley, I may not make within the time limit I am still trying but I have the choice now, to finish it (whatever it takes) or to do it the way I would be (more) happy with the result... I don't know yet what I will do ... After the gloss cote (all Valeja - with flow improver it works good for me) I started decaling. (Just by the number of "No Step" markings a technician accidentally stepping on the wrong part has probably a hard time arguing with his boss that he didn't know ... ) Nearly (!) finished decaling ... The nose is missing, since it is being painted now in a slightly different grey tone. Both decal sets I am using a superb: The Kit decals and the TwoBobs (to make it an LN). Using Microsol they adapt even into the rivets! I worked also on the tanks and missiles. But again, time is running out. Still need the gloss cote, decaling, satin/matt cote ... I colored the exhaust nozzles but I have to add the nozzle linkages (these rods) ... Cheers, Holger
