  1. Craig, Should we fail to get this going could you do something similar using Asian Air Arms SIG website? I'd be more than happy to host it but you'd have to do the technical stuff. It seems a tragedy to let go such enthusiasm.
  2. Hi Craig, Further to my post suggesting people have a look at our website http://www.asianairarms.com for further ideas, just want to say that we're now extending the region to include the former Soviet Asian republics, namely: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, plus the Transcaucasian air arms of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia plus the semi/non-official air arms of Abkhazia, Chechnya and South Ossetia. There must be something there to tickle people's fancies! These new pages can be found at https://www.asianairarms.com/sov-asia-trnscacsus-search. However, please bear in mind that this extension is in an early stage at present and I'd very much welcome input from those who know better than me! Corrections, a/c photos, model photos, accounts of air actions, additions and suggestions very much welcome! Brian
  3. Help! I'm now extending Asian Air Arms coverage to include the former Soviet Asian republics (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) and Transcaucasia (Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, plus the extra-legal a/c operators such as Chechnya, Abkhazia and South Ossetia). This will then complete all the air arms used throughout Asia. I need help to complete this new phase! If you have any knowledge of air arms in this region please get in touch. I also would like to see photos of both a/c and particularly models that you might have. Thanks, Brian Griffin Leader - Asian Air Arms SIG http://www.asianairarms.com
  4. Hi Craig, I'll put this message out to the Asian Air Arm SIG members and hopefully we'll get some interest. If anyone's looking for ideas they can go to the Home Page of our website http://www.asianairarms.com and click on Aircraft Search. They'll find alphabetical listings of most of the a/c used in Asia since 1945. Make sure you look at the References page on each country also for lots of photos. 5. Hi Aidy, Thanks for your interest. It sounds as if Asian Air Arms SIG would benefit from your input in filling in the gaps of our knowledge on Malaysian and other regional air forces. I've replied to you separately and would like to take things further. Speak to you soon, Brian http://www.asianairarms.com
  6. Hi, Introducing Asian air Arms SIG. Although focussed on post-1945 Asian military aviation there were so many WWII aircraft used in this region until the late 1950s that I though it might be of interest to WWIIers! It offers some wild colour schemes and bizarre partnerships. What about Pakistani Halifax, Communist Chinese Lavochkin La-11, Indonesian Mustang and Tupolev Tu-2, Taiwanese B-24, Thai Helldiver, Japanese Avenger, Filippino Mustang? And on, and on and on.....! Asian Air Arms SIG has been set up to enable modellers to access a huge resource of post-1945 military aircraft subjects from 26 Asian countries: Mongolia to the Maldives, and from Japan to Afghanistan. Huge website http://www.asianairarms.com offers thousands of photos, colour schemes, research, contemporary accounts, kit lists, decal info, photos of members' models and air arms' lists of serial numbers. We exhibit at many UK shows including North East, Midlands and South West. Members are encouraged to display under our banner. Next two shows: Boscombe Down 6th August, and IPMS Avon 13th August. We welcome all, particularly those with specialised knowledge to help add to, and improve the accuracy of, our resources. Costs nothing to join, just click "Join Here" on our website and you'll go straight on to our mailing list.
