You are correct to leave the screens off. They were not used until very late apparently (they were definitely not on the earlier Battle of France marks). I finished my build of the Bronco A13 Mk1 earlier this year. I replaced the rear deck with the corrected one from TMD. Attaching the upper and lower hulls can be a challenge, but I followed Terry Ashley’s advice on his PMMS review that suggests starting at the rear and working forward. The pieces pull together nicely. Your Caunter scheme is fantastically executed. I’m hoping to build this version, but the paint has me intimidated!

Looking good-excellent tonal modulation and wood effects. I don’t know that I’d want to be in an open-topped vehicle with those rockets though! I know they mounted them on 251s, but there’s a LOT of blast out of the back of those things! Fritz won’t be asleep long...

I pretty much gave up on this one four or five years ago after putting in a lot of work on the interior and engine compartment. I haven’t built any German armour in years because I wasn’t happy with the very flat, lifeless-looking monochromatic grey finish I had sprayed back then. I pulled this one out of mothballs and repainted it using techniques I’ve worked on in the past few years and I’m now much happier with things and am finally motivated to finish it. I put together a crewman out of spare parts and a Hornet head to give the project some scale.

Just wrapped this one up. The Miniart Grants are fantastic kits-highly recommended if you’re into the subject matter (or not!).

I start with a finished plaque, then build a Plastruct square tube frame where I add groundwork and fix the tank like this one:

Other than pennants on the antenna, the tank is completed-now to finish the base.

Some of that comes from the filters-the thinner dries like that.

Just about finished with the build-added antenna and markings after taking these shots. On to the base...

No worries at all. Those diaries can be fascinating as well as sobering.

Their unit history is very interesting.

They had 24 Grants at Gazala, including the serial number for the one I’m building, which was lost.

Right side tracks are now complete and driver (not visible here) and commander added.

This will be the base finish Light Stone with OD sand shields.

Working on the Miniart Grant Mk.1 (non-interior kit). In a word, this kit is spectacular. Detail and textures are top-notch and this is easily the best Grant kit on the market. The workable tracks are a bit time-consuming, but turn out nicely. Hope to have this one wrapped up shortly.

I too have too much in my stash that was state of the art 25-40 years ago and have the cutting-edge replacements, so I will also never build a bunch. I donated 60-70 kits to a veterans’/servicemens’ group where they went to very good use and were greatly appreciated. I strongly recommend that if you can do so!

The Desert Pink was a neat one to do.
