  1. The 7B engine exhaust section os different and is being cast now - they should be delivered by the end of March and hopefully sooner.
  2. Yes, I did the artwork for them yesterday after I did the list.
  3. I hope you all have as much pleasure out of building them as I did designing it! I am now doing the decal design, then on to Canadairs.
  4. DC-7C transfers/decals These are the liveries which I intend to produce for these conversions: DC-7B Delta Eastern Pan American World Airways (radar nose & saddle tanks) South African Airways (non-radar nose & saddle tanks) DC-7C Afretair/Air Trans Africa (Rhodesian sanctions-busting aircraft) Braniff BOAC KLM Pan American Sabena Swissair They will be produced when the decal paper arrives from the USA.
  5. The first flight of the prototype Douglas DC-7C Seven Seas (N70C) took place at Santa Monica on 20th December 1955. These links are to photographs of the prototype : https://plus.google.com/photos/110240617967423845676/album/5408518494596584017/5636915968271604770 https://plus.google.com/photos/110240617967423845676/album/5408518494596584017/5440270144231747314 https://plus.google.com/photos/110240617967423845676/album/5408518494596584017/5935428008467521138 It appears to have the pointed radar nose, but I leave you to decide. A photographs of the resin long-range or saddle tanks is shown below.
  6. My apologies - this is something very important that I completely forgot to give. Sorry. Here are the prices of all the DC-7 items: EXPORT EU SALES PRICE PRICE (INCLUDES VAT) TWC72034 1:72 Douglas DC-7 and DC-7B conversion set £33.75 £40.50 TWC72035 1:72 Douglas DC-7C conversion set £52.50 £63.00 TWC72036 1: 72 Douglas DC-6/DC-7 non-radar nose £ 4.50 £ 5.40 TWC72037 1:72 Douglas DC-7B long range fuel tanks £18.00 £21.60 When the decals become available they will be approximately the same price as the Britannia decals.
  7. I assume you would like Brannif decals, Michael? The DC-7 series decals will be done when the white decal paper arrives.
  8. The DC-7C conversion sets plus DC-7B saddle tanks (long range tanks) were delivered to Hannants yesterday (25 Feb 2019). Just for the record, there are 30 resin parts plus four cast metal propellers in all, which are: RESIN Replacement complete fin and rudder Centre section two fuselage plugs (2 left & 2 right halves) four saddle (long range) tanks Engine - cowling (4 off) - engine core (4 off) - gills, closed (4 off) - gills, open (4 off) - exhaust & PRT section (4 off) METAL Propeller (4 off) The DC-7B conversion sets will be available in two weeks time. I think this covers everything. so now for the Canadairs and then the Carvair.
  9. The next conversions are for the Canadair Yukon, CL-44 and Argus, based on the Mach 2 Britannia kit. Would a similar thread to the DC-7 series be of interest?
  10. Delivery date If everything goes to plan, the DC-7/7B and the DC-7C conversion kits should be with Hannants by the end of February 2019
  11. Thanks to a modeller in Italy I have been able to correct some errors in the DC-7 and DC-7B instructions. Please download them again to get the current version - Here is the link again to the instructions for the DC-7 and DC-7B conversion:: http://www.aim72.co.uk/Pictures/DC-7 instructions-A5.pdf
  12. It is more of a building blocks approach - issue the first and then use parts from this in subsequent packs. Thus the non-radar nose was stand alone. The engines are common to the DC-7 and Canadair Argus, but the Argus is very much more complex, so the DC-7 comes next. It must be remembered that stereolithography is a very expensive process so each kit or pack funds the next. As an example, the resin used costs £160 per kg - not cheap! Anyway, here is a link to the instructions for the DC-7 and DC-7B conversion: http://www.aim72.co.uk/Pictures/DC-7 instructions-A5.pdf And similarly a link to the instructions for the DC-7C conversion: http://www.aim72.co.uk/Pictures/DC-7C instructions-A5.pdf
  13. All the conversions are vacuum or pressure cast in urethane resin with metal detail parts such as propellers or landing gear. The provisional production sequence is: DC-7B & DC-7C Canadair Yukon & CL-44 Canadair Argus Carvair Mandator Blue Steel transporter DH 86 Express - full kit.
  14. The most difficult master for the DC-7C conversion was the new centre section. It was finished yesterday, fits nicely, and this is what it looks like. From above And from below
  15. The DC-7C centre section now fits the fuselage nicely - it will go for casting on Monday (11 Feb 19) - the last part in the Douglas conversions. A lot of parts are already produced, only waiting for saddle tanks and centre sections, plus propellers now.
  16. We never give release dates because too much can go wrong along the way. Before we get to the Carvair there are two Douglas and four Canadair conversions to release, plus other items. We routinely use metal propellers with the shaft integral with the propeller.
  17. Dear Jan, They are progressing well - here are two of the graphics from the instructions:
  18. The Meteor BVRAAM missiles having been delivered to Hannants, I decided to follow the suggestion to produce the Skyflash AAM in 1:48 and 1:72 scales. Here are some screenshots for interest,
  19. Meteor BVRAAMs - 1:48 and 1:72 missiles delivered to Hannants yesterday (Monday, 21 Jan 19). I am currently looking at other subjects.
  20. The Meteor packs should be with Hannants in a week to ten days. I will look at some Skyflash, Brimstone and Spear drawings. If anyone has any other suggestions, just add a post. If any are modelled there will be 1:72 and 1:48 versions.
  21. If this one sells well there is every chance that others will follow. If and if I can find accurate drawings and dimensions for Skyflash and Brimstone I will at least model them in CAD. For the record, the first Meteors were produced last week and are looking nice.
  22. PROGRESS I heard today that the masters should be delivered before Christmas. They are now on the Hannants website for advance ordering at these links: 1:48 - https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/TWC48028 1:72 - https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/TWC72028
  23. Thanks for the link - apparently the Gripon was also used for tests in the UK.
  24. PROGRESS The files will go for stereolithography today, with a view to having masters before Christmas. Here is a screenshot of one of the masters with its feed : And here is the box art which will appear on the Hannants web site:
