  1. Design is now complete, and I will pass the files to the production guys to build a test model when the have time. Here are some screen shots: Left front screen shot - door open Left front screen shot Right rear screen shot - body removed to show interior detail
  2. I saw this on YouTube an Friday last - two days later here is the model (all 85mm of it). It is the McDonnell XH-20 Little Henry, the first tip jet helicopter (thus no torque reaction). It is the speed, ease and level of detail possible which has sold me on this process.
  3. This is the best solution, but I cannot find a 'best solution' button.
  4. We stopped giving estimated delivery dates years ago, in case delays occur - our standard reply "subscribe to the Hannants Hot News sheet", so you know when an item arrives.
  5. 11 Dec 2022 - Weather permitting the 1:144 Vulcan Skybolt conversion will be delivered to Hannants tomorrow, together with 1:35 Switchblade 600 UAV/loitering drone and assorted nuclear weapon restocks. Valiant B2 conversions will follow next year (1:144 first, then 1:72).
  6. Thanks, Dave, this is a great help. I intend to continue designing with the lowest possible parts count per model - made simple with 3D printing production. So in the case of the crew bus kit (excluding glazing) it will be: Body two each of three different wheels (front, rear outer & rear inner) steering wheel floor/chassis with v-bomber crew seats layout floor/chassis with normal bus seats layout door - open (folded) door - closed (flat) So, a dozen parts, plus glazing. Thus a modeller has two options for the bus - V-force or general usage
  7. Thanks for this. Chris. I cannot find the film on line, so your comments are helpful. The conflict I have is that I have one photo of a v-bomber crew getting into a bus, and through the opem door and windows it appears to have five seats all facing inboard on the right side of the bus. The Mick Bell drawing agrees with your description. Neil
  8. Can anyone help with details of the interior, please. In particular, the seating layout - I have conflicting photos.
  9. 1 - we only sell through Hannants by agreement. 2 - it is a very limited market - probably not a commercial proposition. 3 - If you want something to add atmosphere, there is already a GPU and bomb trolley.
  10. Because there are no 1:48 Vulcan or Victor kits generally available, we are planning a 1:48 Mandator, Blue steel missile and personnel. To this end the 1:48 bomb trolley is already available (https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/GE48063? ) together with the servicing crew ( https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/GE48300 ). We will also reissue the 1:48 Blue Steel missile (which has a removable tail cone to reveal the Stentor motor) when I have revised the design for 3D printing. The 60 kva ground power unit is available in 1:48 - https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/GE48055 The thinking is that Mandator, Blue Steel and bomb trolley are all in 1:48 with figures, so you have a 1:48 Blue Steel diorama even without an aircraft. We have not done a tractor and tow bar because no aircraft kits are generally available. So much of your wish list is already in stock at Hannants.
  11. Glad you like them, Sam. We have some RAF WW2 large bombs in test build at the moment - amazing what 3D printing can achieve.

I have just seen some photos of the built 1:72 version, and examples will be on the USAF SIG stand at Telford.
  13. We don't estimate release dates - to many delays can occur, causing disappointment. I always say register for the Hannants Hot News sheet, which will tell you when it arrives.
  14. The Carvair conversion is designed, but 3D printing is a slow process, even with multiple machines.
  15. A brief update 2nd September 2022 Mandator: We are doing final tests of the articulation, and some parts have been produced. This is a complicated model, but the chassis and cab look beautiful (to my eyes!). There has been a lot of experimentation, and the reason it has taken so long is that design was finished and masters made, then the Elegoo Mars and 3D printing came along and so I started all over again. Valiant B2 conversion: The conversion is being redesigned for 3D printing, and we are doing the 1:144 version first. The fuselage plug is done, and next comes the wing pods. The main undercarriage will be built in ABS like resin, and each leg will be a single part, giving better realism, and it will now include the early and late main wheels. Dragon A-10 rearming trolley: We have just obtained some dimensions from the USA, to make sure the scale is accurate. Beech T-1 Jayhawk: Just about finished, following very promising build of a clear cockpit canopy. 747-all variants: This is an ongoing project, intended for when the Jupiter 3D printer arrives. Blackburn Blackburn: A new batch of 1:72 (and possibly 1:48) is being produced. Historic Wings kits: We have delivered the revised Goddard Rocket in 1:72 and 1:48. This includes a specially commissioned figure of Dr Goddard, and the sculptor has captured the photo very well. The intention is to bring back all the kits but as 3D printed rather than photo etch. General comments 1 - we never give planned delivery dates, because too many things can cause delays. My standard answer - watch/subscribe to the Hannants Hot News sheet, to know when the kits arrive. 2 - with 3D printing, it is possible to drastically reduce the parts count, and the Blackburn proved that you can do both the wings and the inter-plane struts as a single part, making a biplane as simple to build as a monoplane.

No - that comes after the test build.

Our latest - the Dragon ammunition loading cart for the A-10 Warthog.
  19. Yes. and prototype, but new wing panels would be needed (and landing gear).
  20. If plans work out, it is 1:144 & 1:72.
  21. We are currently revising the design for 3D printing, and it has several improvements, thanks to input from a fellow ,modeller. There are now two types of main wheels, improved fit of fuselage plugs, air brake details, and a revised main undercarriage leg - now a single item..
  22. Very nice to see a finished model - congratulations.
  23. Yes eventually - design is done, but 3D is a slow production process. the quality and possible detail justify using it however.
