  1. Thanks for the comments guys. Might try the H30 on the blades to tone them, good tip. Oh Dave, you a mind reader? I've got one more in the stash and yes, it'll be either a dayglo Navy or one of the Russian TV Civil ones in a white / Aerlingus Green / Blue scheme. One day.
  2. Hey Shaun, just goes to prove you don't need aftermarket parts or decals to build a good model. Nice effort indeed. looks the gear - the weathering turned out just right by the looks of it
  3. Hello everyone, first build for 2008 and I think I am happy with it Went together OK for Airfix, front transparency caught me off guard, didn't fit all that well and has left a bit of a step. Colours look OK, not too sure about the green for the rotors - followed the Humbrol refs as printed but it looks a bit strange to me. Anyway, here it is, comments etc as usual welcomed. Warning - photography is rubbish. Andrew
  4. The flippin' obesity epidemic is getting out of hand Must be all twinkies and fries the yanks are on
  5. Just finished this one as a 'sanity break' fronmthe Airfix Beaufighter. Easy build, let me practice some washes and weathering, next time I'll get the snow better. These kits are excellent for trying stuff out (i.e. cheap and no tears if you stuff it up) and good for the younger starting modellers. Gonna try their 1/48 IIIC later on this year (I hope). Ciao
  6. Nice one Mark, and I thought 1/72 caused eye strain! (Good to keep the kids happy too, don't want the December plastic supply drying up). Ciao Andrew
  7. That is an absolute bottler Any close ins of the interior? Ciao Andrew
  8. G'day All Just finished, used Floquil Brisght Silver for this one (worked well). Have a safe New Year and rememebr - no drink driving, you might spill some Ciao Andrew
  9. Thanks again for the comments, no dramas on the correction Zeke, WWII Japanese a/c are not my specialty! If the strait jacket comes with a fwew nights in a rubber room I'm sold. Ciao Andrew
  10. Guys OK, probably been asked before, but ... Does anyone know someone in the USA or UK that can ship future to Australia? I can't find the stuff here, the "substitutes" are just not up to scratch, and I have even gone as far as emailing SC Johnson in the States who flatly refuse. Ideas? Contacts? tia Ciao Andrew
  11. Steve: Nice looking, and 5 days! How many do you complete in a year, or is this just a Christmas break modelling marathon? Ciao Andrew
  12. If you like a sidewider tipped Hawk, why not try to get a Mk 127 and fit it out as an Aussie one? Some pix below of the rails installation and the special scheme worn by one of 76 sqdns birds for an anniverary. If you want more pix email me and I'll shoofty them over (at a higher resolution of course). Ciao
  13. Ratch I'm with Baldrick, great job on an old kit . How did the transparencies go on this one? Andrew
  14. Didn't they both have their own airlines - at least for a while anyway
  15. G'day Pappy Very nice build, glad to see some in flight models being done. Wire strike? Fin cap? Low level? Just how low level was this bird? Are we talking a strike with a normal power line, or one of the high voltage transmission lines? Couldn't have been more than 10 meters above ground level. Andrew
  16. G'day Adrian Forgive my ignorance, but what scale is she? Looks like a lot of work but should be a beauty! Andrew
  17. G'day I've just registered so Ithought I'd post a few of my recent builds. I don't finish that many each year but am slowly improving. All are 1/72 and, with the exception of the G50, Albatros and Shiden are spray painted (I've only had the airbush for 1 and 1/2 years, I will get better at this). SMER MS406 Airfix Shorts Skyvan Airfix Albatros DVa Airfix Bulldog Hobbyboss Corsair Airfix G50bis Hobby Craft F89A Hasegawa Shiden Currently working on an Airfix 1/72 Beaufighter and a Monogram P36 in 1/72. Ciao Andrew
  18. G'day Rich Nice build. Aside from the weights (and you could use buckshot from a gun store, VERY tiny lead pellets that can get in small areas) anything to look out for when building this one? I have 2 in the stash at the moment. Ciao Andrew
