  1. Graham, I'm glad you stuck with this one, very nice indeed.
  2. Very nice one Fred, and with a brush too. Good job.
  3. Looks good Chris. Bipes take on a new life when rigged, it's not too hard so give it a go next time.
  4. Brian, be careful, the way she put that together she'll be beter than you before she's out of primary school Cant wait to see Wallace n Grommet.
  5. Looks good Mish, and the display base is a nice setting.
  6. G'day all Just pulled this one from my storage bins for a local display, thought I'd put a few small photos on for you. What I can remember the fit was disgusting, but it was fun quick one.
  7. Thanks for the coments everyone. Found myself eyeing off a strange Swedish self propelled gun and an Israeli Merkava kit in the hobby shop today, so I don't think the next one is too far away
  8. G'day all I usually do 1/72 aircraft but built this for a change and a challenge. I think I did OK and I'm pretty happy with it, I don't really have a feel for tanks and I wasn't game enough to really go to town on the weathering and dirt. It was fun, it went together well although I did get misled by the tracks and one is one link longer than the other side . I might do another one day maybe. Ciao Andrew
  9. Sorry, wrong forum, should be in the completed not WIP.
  10. Thanks for the comments guys. All I can say is that I am looking forward to the Italeri kits where the parts actually fit (I hope)!
  11. Nice models! I have a pair in the stash, thanks for the advice about the decals for the invasion stripes.
  12. G'day all Finally finished the Mig 31, what a crock of a kit - you get what you pay for and I guess you don't get much for A$5 these days! I managed to get hold of a Bergemot decal sheet for this one that helped no end. Can't help the fact that the kit is not 100% correct (the nose should droop off near the front windscreen just to note one large error) and there are more fit issues than you can poke a stick at, but you need to draw the line on how much effort to put in . Looks nice on the stand anyway. It is huge aircraft too, didn't realise how big before. Pics are getting a bit better, nice autumn sun and all that making good light.
  13. Nice builds PetrOs. WRT weathering it's all a bit speculative anyway . Each bird weathers differently, paint batches are different in how they react - even which bird cops the sea spray during heavy weather, or which one has been recently overhauled can make a big difference . Go figure. Looking forward to your next posts.

  15. Ouch, my eyes are hurting - so small, nice though. I take it there's no issue with display cabinet space with this one! My advice - lose quickly, leaving more time for the models.
  16. Jon, that's an excellent build, you should do more kerosene burners! Bruce, there's more good looking NZ schemes out there for these birds and some interesting weapons fits too. As an eg, here are 2 shots of a Kiwi A4 in Towsville in 1981 I took some years back: Side on - Close up of one side and practice bomblet dispenser - They liked to keep the birds clean - note the mop bucked under the centreline!
  17. Stewth that's a good build, Maurice Landi - God rest his soul - would be tickled pink with it! It looks like the real deal, did you actually TELL Hemple's it was a model? They might have thought it was just a nice happy snap of the original!
  18. Nice one that, if you could get 'round to some interior photos that would be great.
  19. Nice build Wayne, always liked the look of this machine.
  20. Oh dear, another reason to slit the wrists One, day, one day I'm gonna get that good . . .
  21. Thanks everyone for the comments, glad you liked it. Darson, I picked up this kit about 5 years ago for A$8 (I think), about £3 or less in UK money and I really wanted to see what I could do with an older kit. I am intending to get the Hasegawa kit later on and do it up as a TTMk just for the black and yellow scheme. I've got a fair few Airfix kits in the stash and I guess it's also a bit of nostalgia, nice memories of whacking them together with my Dad.
  22. Hello everyone OK, here is the second one for 2008, although I have been working off and on on it for about 160 hours! It is an Airfix Beaufighter with the box markings (236 Sqdn) in 1/72. I completely detailled the interior, opened the observers hatch, reworked the wheels and cowlings, added scratchbuilt engines, landing lights and gun ports in the wings, built up the interior of the wheel wells, repositioned the flight surfaces and flaps and detailled the interior of the same. Used the kit decals except for the invasion stripes which I tried to spray on haphazardly to simulate the way they may have been put on originally. A light weathering with oils, pastels and a silver pencil and there you have it. I'm way pleased with the result. A few pics follow - since I am so happy with this one I have posted 11, but they are all about 40k so should not be an issue (I hope!). I am trying to get better at the photography but maybe one day I'll crack it! Hope you like it. Andrew
