    Airfix RE8

Hi Steve your right the wheels are to cambered, my own stupid fault. Attached them to the axil and left for a few mins then thought I would make a cuppa, big mistake when I came back the wheels were set like that! I should have supported them. The assembly was so fragile I did not want to remove them.
  2. Its a very nice kit and will be popular
  3. Thanks for your replys, I will take your advice and keep the wings deployed, it does make sense what you are saying. Thanks again Pete
  4. Hi guy's, just got the new floatplane Swordfish from Airfix and fancy doing it with the wings folded on a catapult. Have a few questions though! 1. Were they launced from a cat or lowered onto the sea? 2. If they were launched, anyone know what the cradle looked like? 3. Any idea for markings? TIA Pete
  5. Nice build, another one in the pipeline to do after I finish the 109's.
  6. Very nice Enzo, I will get around to this scheme soon, what were the decals like? Pete
  7. Thanks guy's. I have to admit Iwas torn with the aerial ! The drawings I had of the aircraft had the aerial shown but it was difficult to see in the photo's, my excuse is its just before they removed it! Agree about the fit I had no problems what so ever, just sanded the topos of the main bay a little to loosen the fit a bit, even so you could keep the wings in place without glue. Just finishing 4 109's I started then another 2 or 3 P-51's to do. Thanks again Pete
  8. Thanks guys. Navy Bird, I used a mix of Testors Aluminium for the wings, Testors Aluminium plate for the control surfaces (all laquers) and Alclad white aluminium for the fueslage with some panels base coated in black, others grey. The whole lot was sealed with Testors semi-gloss laquer.
  9. Hi Guys another Airfix P-51 for your perousal. From the box with Aeromaster decals and Hasegawa long range tanks. It was a real joy to build and I had no problems at all. The missing balance tabs on the tailplanes took no time to scribe at all. The most time consuming was filling in the wing panel lines and masking/spraying the nose checks! Hope you like it. Pete
  10. Hi Buttoncup next time your in say Hi I work there. Pete
  11. Got one today, very nice only let down by the solid carb intake. The cockpit detail is good and gives two instrument panels, one for a decal the other with details. Crisply moulded and very delicate panel lines. I think anyone will be hard pushe to tell the difference from a F/M one once built.

Hi all locally I can only get Alclad Primer, just wanted to know if this has the same filling qualities as Mr Surfacer that I can't get. TIA
