After last year’s massive disappointment - I only build 1/72 aircraft - I’m hoping that Airfix pinch more subjects from the Frog range and issue a Javelin, Sea Fury, Hornet and Sea Vixen. But if they don’t then I wonder what Sword are up to. After all, they had the chutzpah to release early/trainer Lightnings on the tail of Airfix’s editions.

Lovely model, although you may be right about the markings - maybe a bit too much “hey, look at me…” I read that Pokryshkin wasn’t keen on kill markings for the same reason.

That’s a really great finish - there’s a lot of panel variation on NMF SAABs and you’ve done a great job. 😊 -

Hey, let’s build a light aircraft, but make it look like what those guys flew in WW2… -
Well done! It’s like a landau, with the chauffeur sitting out in the elements and the passengers hopefully nice and warm. It wouldn’t have taken much, adding a cockpit canopy - maybe it was felt it kept the pilots more alert!

Excellent result - beautifully weathered too. -
It looks great to me - this kit is on my 2022 schedule. The panel lines are treated strangely aren’t they. But I’ll be happy if the result is similar to yours. 👍🏻

An excellent collection of models - congratulations!

Really good result - it’s got me thinking about digging out the Sword kit. 👍🏻

That’s an excellent build, the finish is just like the SR-71 in Duxford. -
Airfix Mirage IIIC from 1964 reworked
Classic 315 replied to CT Modeller's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Excellent work - I love old kits, reworked, always good fun. -
Ouch! Oh well - that finish would look excellent on a Harrier on winter exercises in Norway… I’m glad that you have returned to the forum and added what I feel are very gracious comments. I look forward to seeing more of your models in the future - especially the Mirage F.1, surely one of the most handsome jet fighters.

That’s beautifully made - I love the arrows by the wing crosses. German dry humour, perhaps…

Beautifully made model and I like the tonality of the photos, absolutely on the money and totally convincing.

Very nice! Still the best Lysander - the clever moulding of the engine and cowling is ingenious!- 11 replies

That is brilliant, really well done. It may seem a strange thing to say but it must take a lot of determination and modelling stamina to see this project through. Excellent!
