I agree Mick, I think the problem arises from the negative reviews that the kit had. There are some truly unforgivable gaffs made by Trumpeter with this kit but, if you don't mind the inaccuracies, the kit itself looks like a Lightning albeit a short wheelbase version! Many thanks Andy! I had a lot of help from the pilot Steve Gyles regarding the colour. However, when I showed Steve the finished article he told me the port Firestreak was a white one on the day which necessitated a repaint! Many thanks!

I completed this kit last year and the completed build can be seen in the Ready For Inspection section.The improvements to the kit necessitated extending the fuselage by 5mm, reducing the profile and extending the length of the fuel tank, tapering the spine, correcting the profile of the rear fuselage, correcting the cockpit sides, correcting the undercarriage and numerous other smaller modifications. This project took around two years to complete and did, at times, nearly cause me to bin it! me
