  1. Hi Folks. This is the Special Hobby F2A-2 Buffalo, modified to represent a 339E. I bought it before the Mk 1 was released. It's a great little kit. Just completed, enjoy... Thanks for looking.
  2. Great looking model, Mish. I really like it. Base looks great too, very appropriate. Nice one.
  3. Here's a few taxiing shots; I Will take some mid-air shots when I find my fishing line. Keith.
  4. Thanks for all the great comments everyone. My one of these arrived the other day, what a monster! Ok, how about this one; It normally doesn't take long to put one of these together. I had a few hold-ups during the build, there's a complete article here. One more then...
  5. A sneek peek... more pics on the weekend. Keep the laughter to a minimum please, Keith.
  6. Cheers Folks. Was initially going to do a grubby old U.S. Navy jet but changed my mind after a fellow modeller posted me some Roos and Magpies. The Aussies tend to keep their birds in very tidy shape. I might put a little weathering on it later. Indeed! Bought it off Ebay for next to nothing. I'm not a big fan of jets but I needed a big plane for a display and the Bug was the best choice. This one has a few extra scratchbuilt items added, the Ozzy decals and the one piece canopy has been carefully chopped and opened. In-progress story can be found here. I probably should have put all this in the first post.
  7. Good fun with a cheap plastic kit... Cheers for looking.
  8. Thought I might as well put this one up. Did this one during an ARC group build but got held up a bit. The Hasegawa Messerschmitts are very nice to build. Enjoy... Thanks for looking, Keith.
  9. Here's a few pics of a model I completed earlier in the year. The 190 is one of my favorite WWII fighters. The larger guns and additonal armour made this one an appealing subject. Enjoy... This is what it looked like before I started the re-build... There is a link in my signature for those who are interested in seeing the rest of this build. Cheers, Keith.
  10. It's wot's on the inside that counts; New cockpit... New motor...
  11. Some of you may have seen this before. The Matchbox SBD-5 with Scratched interior, Resin engine and a few other little bits and pieces. Kit Decals!!!
  12. Built from the Revell kit with a few scratch-built items. The in-progress thread can be found here.
  13. Not Paisley then? What ever happened to painting solar panels good old matt black?
  14. The cockpit for this kit is a real gem. Most of the detailing is now done. With Resin, P.E. and transparencies, it's a far cry from the Revell Dinosaurs I'm used to building.
  15. Production has begun. I'm trying to see how much plane I can glue together before I have to apply any paint. Detail painting is next.
  16. The New Zealand Airforce put it's new Mustangs straight into storage when they first arrived only to drag them out again when the Korean conflict began. They were never sent to Korea. Instead, they were used for pilot training and then mothballed when the Vamipres arrived. Many were lost during training.
  17. Here's one I did just after I discovered the internet. Re-built from a wreck. Scratch-built cockpit, gear/bays/doors, Sratch-built cannon bays, Eagle Strike decals. The paint's a bit spotty and the colour's are slightly off but it was a good result with a fixer-upper. Enjoy;
  18. I am going to make one of these; Out of one of these; I have the plans and pointy tail from the de-navalised version and some decals that should do the job. Otherwise, this will be a virtually OOB build. Cheers Guys (And Gals) Keith. Disclaimer: This aircraft did not serve with the SEAC forces. Although it was based in Singapore 1941, it was in service before the South East Asian Combined forces were formed. This aircraft is not RNZAF. It is in fact part of an RAF squadron staffed entirely by New Zealanders. The first aircraft to be used by the newly formed Royal New Zealand Airforce were P-40 Kittyhawks based in Guadalcanal (Solomon Islands) 1943. Guadalcanal aircraft were also not involved in SEAC operations. Thanks to those who have taken the time to point this out. It is still a good excuse to get this little plane built.
  19. Is there an approximate scale for this ship?
