  1. Very nice results. I have the same problem with my kit and considered the same solution, but so far other kits in the stash have proved more appealing than having a go.
  2. Love them all and very inspiring, I can see me not building mine OOB.
  3. Great to know this is still on the cards and look forward to a peek at Hudds and a purchase at Cosford, fingers crossed.
  4. Joyous! This is my favourite car and I have this kit as well as Revell's 1/32 AH3000 which is also excellent and have finished the same as yours. What paint did you use for the Ice Blue? I got mine made up by Hiroboy
  5. You're going to make we want to build a 1/24 scale car aren't you dammit! Superb work on making and build the kit.
  6. I heard at Telford that the rates were getting too expensive to make running the shop viable any more.
  7. I do recall that after "Pickerings" closed I wondered into a second hand bookshop that had a lots of Christian books in the front and there was a back room with what I assume was stock from Pickerings. I picked up a profile on the SARO SRA1 at the time.
  8. Lovely result. Yeah the Heller decals seems to have survived the ravages of time well.
  9. Dam I don't think I ever found this shop though I've been to York plenty of times. There used to be an aircraft specialist in the Shambles and I know this moved many years ago, was this the same shop?
  10. Thanks guys. Check out this month's SAMI as it has a couple of articles on the available kits and how to achieve the various marks. It seems Maintrack made some conversions for the T3 which I wasn't aware of. If you can find one it would certainly make a short nose conv easier.
  11. Cut it out, the extra length that is, check the thread for all the gory details.
  12. I recently converted the T3 to a FAW 6 using the canopy and tanks donated from an Airfix FAW9, details here: http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=5971
  13. Looks more buildable than most of the kits you buy ;-)
  14. It's nice it have an IM Vampire but the Heller kit is still serviceable there are the CMRs for that those with deep pockets, what we really needs is some Venoms!
  15. Topic already here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234947362-gwh-tsr2-1-144-in-november/
  16. Since the GWH Vulcan was also released by Pitroad my guess this is a re-pop of the most excellent Pitroad kit from 3 years ago.
  17. OK we've listed every post war British jet so if the rumour is true, and the kit sees light of day it's bound to be one of them! I think we've got our answer as should be chuffed that it only took 9 pages of speculation and personal wishlistery to come up with a conclusive answer
  18. Gazelle obsolete? Is there one another in 1.72 let alone a better one? As for the Javelin surely there is only the Airfix FAW9 which was a retool of the Heller T.3 circa late 70s early 80s.
  19. Many years ago in Scale Models (1989?) I saw a picture of a diorama of a web covered skeleton entitled "Waiting for the Airfix Chinnook". When it came it was a Italeri repop IIRC Edit: Just seen Rob P's post above!
  20. It's a shame that this kit seems to be the only one available of the Lola T70 as it's a bit of challenge for most of us at this scale. I've got a resin slot body that I'll eventually build a chassis for once I've got enough refs and some suitable wheels.
  21. After an abortive attempt to make the coast yesterday and settled for pig racing instead, my wife offered me the opportunity to pop into Elvington Air Museum on the way home. It was 4pm and the guy on the gate kindly let us in for a bargain price (don't you just love it when someone is able and willing to exercise their judgement rather than being a slave to what the till says). I eventually found it round the make of the main hanger next to the rather tired looking Herald.
  22. Indeed beautiful paint work that really captures the wood textures. I've been to the Vasa museum, I was taken by a friend and I had no idea what the Vasa museum was so walking into the main hall was doubly breathtaking. I has left me with a desire to build this kit as what would probably be my only attempt at building a sailing ship.
