  1. On the Air Graphics FB page, a (resin...😒) AW139 kit is mentioned for next year. Seeing is believing ofcourse, but here's to hoping!

On the other hand: Air Graphics have a 1:72 Ecureuil/ AStar for 50 pounds (!!!), so I guess an AW139 would pricewise turn out way beyond what I would spend on any kit.

  2. The Cessna 172 in 1/48 is the most interesting kit for me. The Minicraft GA aircraft kits got so unbelievably expensive, I hope that the Italeri kit will turn out cheaper...🙏

I’m happy for those who are delighted to see this but assuming Airfix do some sort of market research is this really what the modelling fraternity have been crying out for?

You as a Brit should know Mike! Airfix kits are ofcourse aimed at the British market, You, me and the rest of the world look at this release in amazement: there appear to be more than enough 1:72 Chinook kits around, but apparantly nothing that could be made into a British version.

  4. Thank you Davide, you're right ofcourse! I keep mixing those two up. All that military hardware visually got in the way of windows and landing gear sponsons I guess. I would also not mind a kit of the 189 though!😁

I keep my fingers crossed these days for a 139 kit, but so far the future looks bleak (for any civil helo kit that is...).

In Hannants future releases - I'm aware they announced this a while ago but couldn't find an extant thread:

'Bell 206 Jet Ranger / Civilian users 4Q/2023 1 kit boxed, 2 decal versions, canopy mask, PE Parts'

Civilian users sounds promising...please not loads of Police schemes-  a brown n beige factory scheme a la every 80's TV series ever would be peachy

I'd prefer it in 1/72 but as Italeri steadfastly refuse to re-pop their one which was available for the duration of an atom splitting in 2014 this might scratch an itch!

Well, don't know if I should cheer or cry. Although any civil helicopter subject is terrific, the perspective of fiddling around with a 1/144 JetRanger is not too attractive. Considering I already found the 1/72 OH58/ 206 to be way too tiny...

The painting is about completed other than the engines. Attention will now go to modifying the figures and getting them to jump together. My only concern is breaking the resin figures while fixing them. Tiny resins tend to be brittle.

    How’s my smile?

    Abolutely gorgeous Cklasse!

Just like Perdu stated: the underside looks perfect considering the role of the aircraft and I would leave it just like that.

I'm afraid you are right. It's like a parallel universe in the model world. Who'd have thought that a Cessna of all things in aviation would be rare - to the point of extinct?!

But if it was a dam Stuka or Spitfire with a half track troop carrier or something, you would be inundated with choices and options by every maker..

As an example, I did a little Citroën Avant saloon car by Tamiya, in 1.48 scale. This was France's automotive pride and joy prewar. And it is marketed as a German military Staff car.... 😮 Whaaaa..... T⁉️

So very very right Rob!! When a model Mustang or an F-16 has two rivets in the wrong spots, its modellers start screaming that the kit sucks and they need a better one. When modellers of civil models complain that there is no model at all of (most) CA or helicopter types, we're being told that that is what modelling is about and to convert a Spitfire into a 172 or an AH-64 into an AW139...😡

  8. Thanks, nice! Since I don't think Revell or Italeri will come up with new non military helicopter models, this will have to do. The 1:32 145 is a far better kit than Revell's new 135 and the extra parts on new kit versions are nice. You can tell it's a newer version because the box is fatter than the previous one!
