  1. Does anyone have any idea about the turret # of the Type 59 that confronted "Tank Man"? I have seen a video which confirms it started with 10 but the last number is not visible . It may make logical sense that it was 101 however given that was the format on all the tanks 101-, 201- etc.
  2. Agree on fit issues, fit, sand, fit, sand repeat ?X usually shoot against a white backdrop but with this one I'm going to need something similar to what you used.
  3. I'm working on one now as XR220 Cosford. Every year I go to SMW (best show on earth) from the USA and always include a museum stop and every time I marvel at the TSR2. I'm using the CMK interior and wheel well set as well. Lots of sanding and fitting to get it all right but it'll be worth it in the end. BTW, your photos are quite nice (I'm a professional photographer) In future I could offer a suggestion to get rid of the under-model shadow. Shoot in daylight only on a bright sunny day indoors. Camera on a tripod so who cares about long shutter speeds. Your model is super crisp & clean. Hope mine turns out as well.
  4. Regarding the red/yellow rear panels. I think there may have been some variation in color and means of attachment. This photo clearly shows re/white and painted on since you can see the ribs on the boxes. http://AF1QipMmANNRaiiq7Iq05Q-bFMZup9zEjYeVlT78DIE5.htm
  5. There is one exception to the flap/slat scenario. The flaps are hydraulically actuated and linked to the slats mechanically. Therefore once engine power was off the flaps would droop just a bit but not enough to deploy the slats. So. You can get away with showing the flaps very rightly dropped only.
  6. Nice job. I built the same model and vacformed a clear bubble over the rounded tip of a paintbrush. If you ever build another, give me a yell.
  7. Same is happening to the National Air & Space museum in DC in that it's becoming more of an interactive/learning museum rather than an enthusiasts museum. Just as Cosford is one of the go to places in the UK for the aficionado, so the NASM Udvar Hazy at Dulles Airport in Virginia is for the USA. Been to Cosford 3 times in the last 4 years and Hendon twice. Love them both!
  8. Built from the 1/72 scale Academy kit with CMK resin interior
