Airfix 'Starter Kit' Spitfire Mk. I 1/72
Intruder503 replied to The_Lancaster's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Very nice. You should take those "failed" builds and do a couple what if kit bashes. Create something that doesn't exist...yet -
1/32 A-6E Intruder from VA-115
Intruder503 replied to Intruder503's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Sorry for the lack of updates. Not much bench time lately. And even when I do, I'm just doing boring detail stuff like eradicating the kit's detail in the main gear wells so I can do my own and blending seams here and there. Not really pic worthy I'm afraid. -
It looks like you had to use a lot of filler on the nose. Is it that badly shaped? Nice progress!

I'm for the everyday look. But of course depends on the modeller, A/C, time, etc.

Good thing it's free shipping. Imagine what it would cost to post that thing seeing as it must be made of gold!! -

What a marvel!! Beauty and a beast! -
Ooohhhh!! That'd be interesting for sure!!

Never trust a museum piece unless it's verified as a true, untouched specimen. You know how those restoration project managers just make educated guesses as to accuracy!! On a serous note, nice Sea Hurricane!! Fantastic job!!

Nice progress. Very interesting subject!

Nothing more for me to add. Great job!! -
Sorry but I'm a bit thick sometimes. Are you painting her as depicted in the first photo, in her glory days, or as a well made up princess on her last act of service? As for AMARC I can attest to the ravages of the AZ sun (I live in the Phoenix area). Having worked for a company that had 5 A-4s to get parts from, even the best attempts to protect the airframes is at best a delay. Critters find their way into everything. The paint is all but gone (it is literally sometimes just a powder over the bare metal).
