  1. This is stunning! The diver has the 1000 yard stare 😀
  2. Firstly, excuse my ignorance. What do you mean by PE ? From my research the ready made zim is quite good. I was being thrifty and knew I'd get lots of tigers for the price of one decal set. I tried no more nails which was very translucent, used the humbrol because i had some, found thinning it with tamiya cement works well. Hmm lots of antenna comments, so i guess i got that wrong. Ironically i work for a fishing wholesaler, that's where the titanium wire came from, and the wire on my fury... We don't sell coarse gear lol Thanks for the input Steve
  3. Pretty much an oob build, zimmerit done with tamiya tool and humbrol filler, titanium wire used for antenna after many attemts to stretch sprue, bandage and pva used for the camo net. I used Micro sol and set for the first time, and i think the set has reacted with one of my tamiya clear coats (white stain around decals). All damage was done with a lighter and fear! I used tamiya weathering kit for rust and soot and pastels for dust, which doesnt show up too well in the photos. I thought the model looked good untill i saw the photos. I may revist this at a later date to improve the weathering, i think i got a bit burned out with the tracks and the zimmerit!
  4. It comes with the kit mate, and thanks
  5. Thanks! I have no idea what went wrong there. Posting from my mobile. I'll try to edit it .
  6. I've broken the gun on top 😞 apart from that i am quite happy with the way it has turned out. Decal silvering ... i now own some microsol.
  7. Thank you very much, your knowledge is very much appreciated 😀!
  8. Anyone know if the tiger 131 would have had Zimmerit applied? I can't find many verified photos of this tank from ww2, the one clear one i could find (with the George cross on) would imply that it didn't after its capture.
  9. Thanks for the input Jack. I think i might chalk this one up as poorly planned, and aim for how it looks in the display at Bovington.
  10. Hi all I am just about to start an Italieri Sherman fury edition, with a view to replicate the tank from the movie. I chose the Italieri over the tamiya as it comes with lots of stowage which i didn't feel like scratch building as i am a fairly inexperienced builder. I didn't realise that the model did not include a commander. I really would like one with the pose included with the tamiya kit. http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/35346/index.htm I want to build as seen in the tiger battle scene. The closest i can find is the us miniart crew https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B007CUHJY6/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1496946781&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=miniart+tank+crew&dpPl=1&dpID=51EmkGeLJaL& Or the tamiya us Europe crew. http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/35347 Does anyone with figure modelling experience know if either of these would allow me to swap arms around to replicate the pose? Or is there a way to buy the tamiya figure as a spare part.? Any help gratefully appreciated 😀
  11. Thanks Badder! Glad you like the exhaust, it was the scariest bit. Yeah i suppose i overdid the mud. In my head i imagined it had just been through a big swampy puddle! I appreciate the input, and I'm off to sterilise the tank microbes
  12. Thanks. I used a coat of buff with a bit of red brown in it, then painted with tamiya weather master rust (two colours separately) mixed with tamiya paint thinner.
  13. Hi all, First post and second model after a 33 year "break". In my early teens i made airfix aircraft, and didn't know what weathering was. I was inspired after a visit to bovington where i bought a WOT 1/56 panther. (Pic of that one here too). All tamiya acrylics, tamiya weathering kits, and real mud mixed with canopy glue. Critique welcomed as i want to learn.
